Who is doing a better job and not on the hot seat? I think Lane will do well at Ole Miss in time but can he make Ole Miss a 8,9,10 win team a year. I have to admit I don’t know much about Pittman.

Kiffin was a joke at TN. I’d love to see a repeat of that at Ole Miss.

I honestly don't get the love for Kiffin. The guy is a mercenary. He stays a year or two and moves on.

Why would a school sink any money into him?

Kiffin just needs to bided his time, and make it 3 years. In 2023 Arch Manning will be in Oxford and Saban at 72 won't be in Tuscaloosa.

Kiffin will not get athletes to Ole Miss. This is end of Kiffin. Being left at the Oxford airport is his future.

Interesting angle to this hiring.... I wonder how the mannings feel about Kiffin. Peyton being a UT guy can’t be a huge fan. And LSU on fire lately has to be helping our prospects with Arch.

I just hope Kiffin doesn’t turn “John Rice Plum Lee” into a good QB.

Said no one who actually watched that team play.

He came a helluva closer to beating Alabama that year than LSU did.

How long did he stay at USC?

How long did he stay at Alabama?

How long did he stay at FAU?

Seriously...the bullshite some of you dumbasses pull out of your own asses about Kiffin defies logic.

3 years is about average for Kiffin, so I'll go with Kiffin being the first on the hot seat. If it's Pittman, then we'll steal Drinkwitzer from Mizzou.

He took over a 5-7 Tennessee dumpster fire and proceeded to play #1 Florida in Gainesville into the 4th quarter, was kicking a fg to beat #1 Alabama in Tuscaloosa, and landed the #6 recruiting class in the country while finishing up the year at 7-5

I'm convinced a good number of posters don't actually watch college football. This post is a prime example.

Then what happened? You're omitting the downhill part of the story. The same ending he had at 3-4 other places.

He was good at USC until the sanctions took full effect. I’m not sure how much of that you can blame on him. He was also very young. He was great at Alabama as OC, and he’s done a hell of a job at FAU.

He’s one of the better young coaches in the country. I don’t know why he’d go to Ole Miss other then as a stepping stone to a bigger school. Ole miss isn’t a place to build a conference winning dynasty. But if he gets them back to 8 wins in 2 years that will be impressive, then I could see a bigger job hiring him away.

I'm not apologizing for Lane as he screwed our program for a few years, but he did have UT on an upward trajectory and there was an excitement around the program that hasn't been felt since (even in the pinnacle Botch years).

He won't be playing for Nattys but I think he'll do well at OM.

Ed O tried to warn him bout to ole Miss job. Who better to know than Ed Oeaux? Got compete in a tuff schedule every year and tuff to get recruits vs LSU, moo state and bama and auburn to get really good recruits to come to Ole Pissalotta. U only get 3 year judgement on how u do and kick u out the door.
