The team had a ton of covid seniors on defense

Leadership from the players was something I hadn’t seen in a long time and it mostly on defense from linebackers Grant Morgan and Hayden Henry who were Arkansas kids and former walkons. This group was sick of losing and they played their guts out. Plus Traylon Burks was an Arkansas kid as well and we generally have done well when we have Arkansas natives playing. Petrino’s best teams here had a lot of Arkansas kids as well.

It was a fun group to watch.

I'll never forget the call during the Texas game, "razorbacks are just running wild!" When rocket took in to the house.

What happened?

Georgia fricked them up so bad they weren't right for a few weeks after that.

Arkansas was ranked 20th in nation for the 2022 season.

They underperformed the whole season.

Then Liberty happened.

Name, image, and likeness (NIL) rules were introduced in July 2021, when the NCAA adopted an interim policy allowing college athletes to profit from their NIL.

Arkansas is last in just about every category tracked for states including wealth, we don't have enough money to pay for 50 to 60 players to play at a high level. Now in basketball we can afford 6 or 7 players.. but not how many it takes to field a good football team.
