If all of this is true. The debt, the fact Nick's family house hunting in Austin and the questions Nick was getting about Bryant Jr., well the writing is on the wall. College football is a business and people who think it isn't about the money probably have always had it. Nick grew up poor. He wants to leave as much as possible to his children. I don't like the look or sound of this.

That is not what he is getting through the State funded portion though. Which is what the retirement benefits would be based on. The majority of his money comes from boosters and endorsements.

As I recall, no amount was listed in the sale. Do you have a link. I do know the lowered the reserve quite a bit.

I think anything is possible, and coaches have many reasons for the things they do. Fans get their hearts broken every few years when some successful coach moves on.

BWT, this story also has the potential to be out there just to rile up a reigning NC team.

I didn't start this pathetic thread. I just find it funny that Bama fans:
- think Nick would never leave
- think Bama can pay as much as Texas
- Tuscaloosa is as nice as Austin - are obviously worried about Saban to Texas after last year's talk

You sound like a broken fricking record.

No one has said any of that but you seem be the all knowing power behind it all. You've been spewing shite since 6:00. Here's some knowledge guy...just because you type it on a forum doesn't mean it's a fact. FACT.

have you lived in tuscaloosa? Not that it is the greatest place on earth but what quality of life does a 62 year old need besides his family. He don't do the bar scene and I doubt he feels the urge to go to concerts weekly, so please help me understand this..He has a lake place on Burton and has a University plane that he has access to several times a year to take him around. Help this gump

Most of the salary is subsidized by advertisement. He only makes about 300k from the school itself.

That number I quoted was state payroll funds. He received another half a million that wasn't counted as payroll, I think....I ran the numbers both ways, just posted the ones that were strictly payroll.

If they come out of the payroll account, they are RSA eligible. There may be a cap on it -- I'm nowhere close to that cap, so I wouldn't know.

BOOM HERE IT IS AGAIN.

If Saban leaves Bama I promise you it won't be because of how much nicer Austin is.

I'm not saying the niceness of a city has anything to do with where a coach goes. I'm just speaking specifically about the two places.

I Know it is but people are using that as a reason why Saban will leave Alabama. It's hilarious.
