Well now we're right back to Bear and Saban again, without them, you have one title since the 40s.

What an illogical statement. Coaches Bryant and Saban are two of Alabama's coaches, why can't we claim them. Plus, they have taken up 39 of the 62 years since Bryant arrived - that's almost 2/3 of the time. What's the magical demarcation of the 40s?

The only bad spell that Bama has had since Bryant were the 11 drastic scholarship years from 97-07. Prior to Bryant were the 3 pathetic Whitworth years. That's it. Stallings won 81% of his games and a NC, 4 SECC game appearances in 6 years.

Again, but Alabama has Bryant and Saban, it also has Wade, Thomas and Stallings.

What is OU without Wilkinson and Switzer; Neb without Devaney and Osborne; OSU without Hayes; Texas without Royal, UT without Neyland ? Bama has much more than all of those programs without Bryant and Saban. But the truth is Alabama had Bryant and has Saban and those other programs have their coaches, though none approached what Bryant and Saban have done at Alabama.

Also, while both had success elsewhere, neither Bryant nor Saban began to approach what they did at Alabama, elsewhere. And to act like UT or AU could have Alabama success is laughable. IMO, LSU has replaced UT as 2nd in the SEC all-time and UGA is third.

Alabama has won legit (wire service since 1936) NCs in the 1920s, 1930s, 1960s, 1970s, 1990s, 2000s, 2010s, 2020s and SEC titles in everyone of the 10 decades since the conference was formed in 1933.

Will things drop off when Saban leaves the scene - surely. But you are dreaming if you think Alabama is going away. If LSU could profit from Saban's program construction, Alabama will almost surely be able to do more so. That is the logical conclusion, but of course no one knows.
