one example would be not one defensive player has made a pro bowl. most of the players are average to below average. I believe Darius has the most potential to be great.

Considering his recruited players at Bama have only been out a couple of years. Just wait.

Duke has the best crop of players in the NBA right now.

So I don't think you want to make that comparison.

And I told you why.

The problem with Saban's players since he has been at Alabama is that the players that he has had the most impact on and had the most time to influence have only been in the NFL for 3 or so years. Do you really expect all these players to make the pro bowl first year or 2?

That's not exactly a common occurrence. But we dont normally expect you to be that intelligent about the subject of your posts anyway given your track record.

not true at all.

Marcell Daureus
Brandon Deaderick
Terrence Cody
Javier Arenas
Rolando Mcclain
Laron Landry
Kyle Williams
Travis Daniels
Corey Webster
Marcus Spears

that's just since '05.

Well, Saban's Bama players have been in the NFL for about 1 or 2 years now.

yet every single one of those guys has been a consistent starter in the league except Deaderick and Daniels.

The only ones who can be judged for not making a pro bowl are Landry, Webster, and Spears.

The rest haven't been in the league long enough or were not picked in the first 3 rounds.

In Duke's case, it's true. In Bama's case, you're just an idiot.

It is easier to start in the NFL then it is to be a superstar in the NFL. A lot of these guys are starting but, of the class of 2008, I daresay only Julio Jones is poised to become a household name.

are you serious?

Daureus- too young first of all. Secondly, has started 15/16 games in his career.

Deaderick- too young. Was a 7th rd pick.

Cody- Too young. Starter for the Ravens.

Javier Arenas- too young. NB for the Chiefs.

Mcclain- Too young. Good player. Has some off field issues.

Laron Landry- One of the better SS's in the league.

Kyle Williams- Excellent player. One all-pro selection and 2 pro-bowls.

Travis Daniels- Long time journeyman. Former 4th rd pick.

Corey Webster- Started for the Giants for years. Played his best football last year in the Giants superbowl run.

Marcus Spears- Started for the Cowboys for years. Decent starter.

so again, out of those players not too young you have 4/5 players that have been starters in the league and 3/5 are above average if not well above average starters.
