Saban was the driving force behind SEC dominance. His absence has left the entire conference floundering and playing second fiddle to the Big 10.

Saban was the wise and stern daddy of the entire SEC who all other teams and coaches looked to for advice. He didn't just belong to Alabama, he belonged to all of us. We all needed his guidance.

The competitive excellence of the SEC is now gone. He challenged other coaches and other teams to be their best to try to upset daddy and gain his approval simultaneously.

Since our daddy left us, the loyalty of players has rocketed to zero due to NIL and frequent transfers. Massive instability within SEC programs has almost destroyed the once proud SEC.

Or the loyalty cause Nick to leave.

Usually you say plummeted and not rocketed when you talk about downward trends.

Saban's SEC champion in 2023 was the first SEC team not to advance in the playoff since his 2014 Bama team. I'd say he started the demise if we're gonna go there.

Saban cheated his arse off while Mark Emmert, Mike Slive and ESPN ran cover for him. Saban is a two faced piece of shite and his frickery led to the NIL and the downfall of amateurism

You're just mad that Auburn hasn't finished a season above .500 in over half a decade.

Mrs. dstone, there has to better things for a grammar Karen to do on a Saturday than to quibble about words.

This is especially so for someone who can't quite fiqure out the singular or plural form / present or past tense of a verb.

Saban really had no effect on a team like Auburn. They were, and still are, beyond any help that a father figure could provide.

Okay, pick the man molded and shaped by Daddy who strove to impress Daddy at every step of the way as an example of someone who wasn't affected by Saban leaving. Good choice.

It’s just that your dumb-as-hell alter cannot decipher between vocabulary and grammar.

Dumbass.

Illiterate women should not be critiquing word choices.

WTF is a "loyalty cause".

This isn’t true. What led to NIL was a UCLA basketball player named Ed O’Bannon noticing in his college days that his likeness was being used on promotional material like video games and not being paid for it. He went decades through legal roadblocks until 7 years ago when it went to Supreme Court and the decision went overwhelmingly in his favor.

NIL is solely because some random, mid basketball player from UCLA is pissed his dumb arse wasn’t getting a little money in college the easy way. Saban was just the low hanging fruit. It all started in the 90s.

Of all the examples you listed, only Bryant's retirement and subsequent death can be compared, in any way, to the shock waves felt after the retirement of Saban.

Bryant's departure from Alabama and his death was more seismic to the whole of college football and even those who weren't football fans.

Fulmer, Spurrier, Neyland, V. Dooley, Pope Meyer, etc... absences had very little effect on the overall hierarchical structure of college football in the way that Saban's retirement has.

And you’re still talking.

Didn’t know that rocketing vs plummeting would cause you to have this little melt, you got going on, in your own OP.

Eta. By the way, nice job in dominating your own OP. You’re supposed to wind it up and let it go, kid. Not respond to every person in your thread. Dumbass.
