That can't be true or there'd be a crow shortage.

I realize this is a troll thread, but in all honesty, I have to wonder if taking so many players from the portal was part of the problem this past season. Maybe it hurt chemistry or players got mad portal players came in and played over them?

Just a thought.

For Bama? Pre-season I thought they utilized the portal better than anyone by a long shot. I believe they only took 5 and got 4 immediate starters on an already loaded team. They grabbed the best RB, best CB, a starting WR off the national champions and starting O-lineman.

You may be onto something though as 3 WR's went to the portal today, so maybe Burton coming in caused some chemistry issues? Ricks had some issues, but that seemed to be limited to he and the coaches.

My last 7 prediction threads. I’m 4 right 2 wrong and 1 50/50.
I was wrong Ohio St was 5th over Bama

I still can’t believe the committee put in a team that lost by 3 TDs. Bama media fatigue is real.
I was right Auburn made a great hire.

Most were predicting Auburn would have to settle for a dud. They landed Freezus.
I was right UGA smoked UcheaT and UcheaT struggled without the home crowd.

It seems like an obvious pick now but it wasn’t at the time.
I was right Burton was not suspended or put in jail.

This was right after he was detained by the KPD. Most of the rant was prediction a suspension and jail time
UGA vs Bama for SEC championship before the UGA vs UcheaT game. 50%

This was more of a convo starter but I’ll take the half loss on it.

Bama’s only lovable game left after Tennessee was Ole Miss. I was very wrong.

Ole miss and Auburn were the only games that weren’t competitive. I missed big time on this one.
Bryce will 100% start and play the whole game vs Tennessee.

Most of the rant thought Bryce would sit this game out. I wish I would’ve been wrong because resting his shoulder for a few more weeks could’ve helped us beat you guys. His deep ball wasn’t back to normal until Austin P.

The transfers we got last year didn’t fit the holes we had. Saban jumped the gun on Burton and Harrell. He should’ve held out for Addison. If we would’ve had the space I think we would’ve landed him. His speed matched Bryce’s strengths more and it was the missing element to this offense. Burton was just a slightly faster version of Holden.

Holden and Leary were processed. Holden is slow as Christmas. Leary is a tweener. Not quite big enough for RB and not quite fast enough for WR.
Earle will be missed if we can’t win him back.

Half troll, half serious.
Saban and Kirby both respected the gentleman’s agreement that players wouldn’t be talked to until after they enter the portal last year. Most teams that got transfer(I’m looking at you Texas and Arky) didn’t. Saban and Kirby are both “tampering” now. All jokes on both teams will be filled with transfers.
As far as the players go that I posted I think most will transfer. There’s no way Bama lands even half of them, though.

Tennessee Hyatt 100%

Hyatt isn’t coming to Bama to loss to UT like that linebacker did. If Hyatt leaves UT he’s going pro.

He’ll be at Bama, UGA or USC next year. He needs another year to vault him to the 1st round. Playing with a new QB In Tennessee won’t do that.

I thought Burton would be WR1 for you guys. I didnt watch a ton of UGA football, but every time I did he seemed to be making plays.

The shocking miss was Ricks. He is likely the best man cover corner in the country and for him to not show it whether it was doghouse, injuries, lack of effort in practice, was crazy. I usually side with players when it comes to the portal, but this one made no sense, other than the obvious, he wanted to win a title. He was a pre-season all american, guaranteed starter and all he had to do was stay healthy enough to play 50% of the snaps and not shite the bed and he is a top 5 NFL pick. I realize it was a very small risk to go to Bama, but damn if that didn't come back to bite him in the arse. He literally could've opted out and would have saved himself millions.

That's a tough call for him. He went from an unknown UDFA in September to a borderline 1st-early 2nd pick. I think he needs to declare. Without Hooker, next year for him anywhere is a crapshoot.

Btw, I feel the same about Boutte, but I am damn glad he didn't listen to me.

One of Saban’s major flaws is he requires guys to know the entire defense to start. It’s cause quite a few guys over the years to have to wait until midseason to get a full dose of playing time. He’s also extremely loyal to guys that play hard. Jackson stepped in and played as well as he was able to at the end of 2021 but he had no business starting at CB in 2022. He’s super slow. If he wants to have a shot in the nfl he needs to move to safety wherever he transfers. You also saw the loyalty to Dalcourt for staying in the program for 4 years and waiting his turn. He’s the worst center we’ve had since Saban had been at Bama but Saban kept playing him over MacLaughlin for most of the season.

Yeah we’ll just have to wait and see. Before NIL a guy like Hyatt would’ve 100% went pro and likely ended up drafted in the 3rd round. Now he can get paid 1.5 mil from a team like USC play with Caleb Williams and he the 1st WR off the board in 2024.

Saban just mumbles and says "process" and "success" a lot.

And looks weirdly at cameras during interviews. It's like he looks at thw camera to see if it's still pointed at him.

Interesting. Didn’t y’all win the portal last year? Is Gibbs the only one that worked out for you? I know your WR’s didn’t really, what about that OL from Vandy?
