ND was only mentioned because the BCS has been kind to the SEC of late. Also why give extra ammo to Oregon when they try to claim the title.

Not really. He still sees LSU as his biggest impediment to continued success. He will never say anything that will give LSU any legitimacy. It's part of the psychological game he's always playing.

"Not really" seems to be a popular lead off on the Rant. Weird.

Nevertheless, its use in this particular context is completely invalid. There's no "not really" to be had here. Saban in fact made no mention of LSU. There's no gray are; it's not up for debate.

Not sure why it matters anyway. If it's important for Saban to mention a team, well then beat him next year, problem solved.

With such a close game, if Saban didn't think the skill was among the "best" this year, it just means that LSU's fans at the game made up for the difference.

Are you so dense that you did not understand that I meant it's not really surprising that he didn't mention LSU? Obviously the quote is right there, there is no debate as to whether or not he mentioned LSU. I was telling the OP that it was not surprising, as he thought it was.

Reading comprehension.

It doesn't make a shite bit of difference what Saban says or doesn't say.

OP is just trying to stir the pot.

Most likely recent events were foremost on his mind. The only game they lost, ATL, them BCS CG. Just about all NC winners have close games though the season, that's pretty much the norm.

He probably would have been more believable had he omitted the Notre Dame and just listed Texas A&M and Georgia.

Yeah but he's giving due to ND which is fair enough. People forget that ND did beat beat Stanford who beat Oregon. They beat OU more easily than KSU. There's a gap no doubt, but save another SEC team, they belonged there as much as any one else.

People forget that because it didn't really happen.

Simply put, LSU dominated bama in November. Saban knows it but will not acknowledge it.
