Saban has always been a dick but that is what makes him a great coach. Dealing with media is a pain for a coach.

No doubt. It was a simple question to answer, but he had already decided it was a loaded question.

I may be totally off base, but I don't think he would've flipped out like that had it been luginbill or some other male reporter. It was definitely a dick move when he deserves any flack he catches for it.

And for the record, I'm definitely not a saban hater

He has little man syndrome and wants absolute control over the QB situation, even though by the very nature of the situation, he can't. His insecurity over this lead him to lash out and act childish. O well. He's just a grumpy old man.

You gumps and swamp kittens view him as some sort of deity so shite like this is a story to you. For the rest of us, it isn't. Saban being an insecure prick isn't news because there are tons of insecure pricks in the world

The jealousy of Alabama and Saban amazes me. The guy is an all-time great who is laser focused on football. He is an arse, but get over it. Saban could care less what people think of him and he isn't changing. Nor should he.

Saban could rape a busload of widowed grandmothers on the 50 at halftime and gump nation would claim they were asking for it and the school would defend him to the end.

Are the widowers from "the villages" of cent FL. Cause they some freaks and don't want Nick catching what they got

Kidding, right? Do you even have a clue how much money pours into UA each year because of him and has for many? Elite athletes have fragile egos and he was trying to carefully tip toe around the issue so as to keep both on board and serviceable. I think everyone knew who was going to be the starter and probably could have ended all the speculation (remember; Hurts and his dad got this started months ago). Have you ever lost your cool with one of your incessant kids that keeps asking the same thing over and over with the same "No" answer each time? That's what he's been dealing with for months. They were all trying to get the scoop. He got tired of it.

I hate all things Bama. However, Saban was not disrespectful in his reply to her. He did not bully her. Alabama, nor the SEC would suspend him over such actions. You way off base in my opinion

Saban bullies the local reporters on a weekly basis... Justifibly so in most cases cause they all ask the same stupid questions.

The only reason anyone cares this time is cause it was on a national stage and it was an attractive woman.

The only reason I feel bad for her versus the local reporters is cause I'm sure she didn't come up with what questions to ask.

We don't pay the man to suck up to the media. We pay the man to win football games. He might have been a little harsh. Maria handled it fine.

I'd love to go on a media hack show let them rant about it, then tell them that. As Dwayne Johnson used to say, "It doesn't matter what you think!" LOL

The media is asking him repeatedly about the "QB controversy" because there isn't anything else of interest going on with Alabama football, and right now Bama is the face of CFB. There is no drama in the games, Bama pummels ever team they play. There is no controversy on the staff, Saban rules with an iron fist. So the only thing the press can ask about is Tua/Hurts.

If Saban wasnt such an egomaniac he would just answer the questions in a nebulous fashion and by the time the team was 3-0 or 4-0 they'd stop asking.

Wrong.

Saban will continue to shite on the spineless media and they won't do a damn thing. He is untouchable.

The only thing that will bring down Saban is if he let it be know he's a Trump supporter.

For Nick Saban to get into trouble, he would have to be caught killing puppies. Course Bama fans would claim he is making the world safer for cats.
