If Auburn continues to have the success they are having this year then I am sure Coach Malzahn will get annual contract extensions. No matter how much you think your head coach loves your school, at the end of the day they are high paid mercenary.
True.
But when nobody offers to pay more, they stay, and stay, and stay...

We up our coaches salary for a job well done.
Right. Saban has done a horrible job. Didn't deserve a raise. Didn't deserve what he is worth.
Of course Bama had to pay him to keep him happy. Auburn will have to do the same thing if Gus continues to be successful.
Saban has established several years of success. When/if your teams coach is able to do the same thing, you will pay or lose him.
Enjoy your national championship run. I'm looking forward to Bama bookending it again next year.

If we meet again undefeated or with the SEC West on the line, CBS will pee their pants. They'll start making sure they hold on to that 8pm slot til the end.

"That matters with their 24 commitments."
We'll just process 5 or 6 players and sign about 30 in this class.

Yes as I am sure Gus doesn't say the Auburn creed every night before putting his head down on his Aubie pillow with matching Aubie bed sheets. These guys are hired to win football games not make us feel all warm and fuzzy.

This will sound condescending although I don't mean it that way but Auburn has never had to deal with having a coach that was truly coveted by another major program. Pat Dye was never pursued by another school. Nobody even thought of considering Terry Bowden. Nobody pursued Tommy Tuberville although he had a lot of success at Auburn and so. The Giants and eventually Tampa Bay pursued Ray Perkins. Stallings was an NFL head coach before he took at Alabama.

He has established a legacy at bama, yet he just got 50% raise from the alleged best school with the best coaching job in America with UT just feigning interest. You're. Commoner too, accept it.

Coach Malzahn will be pursued and understandably so. He will rightfully deserve contract extensions if his success continues at Auburn. I just get mad when some fans think their Head Coach is at their school because he loves the school. There are many reasons and most of them are more logical and practical than emotional.
