Yeah, those years where every SEC team had an off week before they played Bama was definitely manipulated
That was common practice for everyone for a long time. Saban was smart to complain to change things to his advantage though.

You really think that Alabama has made other teams weaker before playing them?
What kind of interpretation is that? The comment was:

By which I mean they rarely have two top tier opponents on consecutive weeks- and typically have an outright cupcake or bye week the week before a marquee game
Look at the schedule. This year for Alabama
Middle Tennessee before Texas
MSU before A&M
Arkansas before Tennessee
Bye week before LSU
Chattooga before Auburn
Most other schools don't have the same preferential staggering of all their big games. For examples this year:
Auburn plays A&M and Georgia consecutively
LSU plays Alabama and Florida consecutively
Tennessee plays A&M and Alabama consecutively
The disconnect is Saban lobbied to manipulate other teams' schedules (to face fewer teams coming off bye weeks) and manages to have a more favorable staggering of more talented opponents than his opponents.
FWIW Georgia obviously has an even more favorable schedule than Alabama this year. They only play three big three opponents and two are coming off subpar seasons

So, I thought I'd take a deep dive into Ohio States' schedule last season. You know, just to see what Ryan Day is up to these days. And sure enough, it's like he's following coach Saban's recipe of schedule hard/soft. Let's all take a look:
Notre Dame
Arkansas State Warhawks
Toledo Rockets
Wisconsin
Rutgers
Michigan State
Bye
Iowa
Penn State
NorthWestern
Indiana
Maryland
Michigan
Ryan Day has to be exhausted playing that schedule. So the toughest 2 teams Ohio State played all year back to back were Iowa and Penn State.

1. I'm not an Ohio State fan
2. Ohio State is not in the SEC and doesn't seem relevant in a discussion about SEC schedules
3. This is just an ad hominem attack instead of staying on subject
4. Even if Ohio State was relevant (and they are not) they play PSU and Wisconsin on consecutive weeks this year. So even your ad hominem distraction argument is wrong.
ETA: just noticed Ohio State closes the regular 23 season with MSU, Minnesota, and Michigan in three consecutive weeks. They have Notre Dame, PSU, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, and Michigan State in the regular season. That's a strong college football season.
But still nothing to do with a discussion about Saban and SEC scheduling practices.

You are the one doing the advertising. Now, you just sound confused.

You mean, because other head coaches are using their OOC to cushion the conference schedule like coach Saban? Now, you sound even more confused.

Quit advertising for Ohio State and I'll quit using Ohio State as another example of how confused you look.

The Wisconsin that went 7-6 and got curb stomped by Ohio State 52-21? Then fired their head coach at the season's end? That Wisconsin?
No, you aren't confused after all, just stupid.

I can't tell stupid from intentional stupidity around here. Advertising. Holy smokes.

Then I suggest you quit typing. You haven't made a point yet.
And only a moron would call Wisconsin a tough game last season.

Oh yes of course. The titles from the 40s with 3 losses that you claim.

Remember when Aggies always rode bama’s nuts? Now they hate them too
Aggy knew Saban was a titty baby the moment he wanted HUNH offense banned b/c Johnny Football beat him in ‘12 and put up 42 in a ‘13 loss. The guy is so thin skinned he wanted an entire offense banned just b/c he didn’t want to learn how to defend it. Pathetic.
Once he loses to Sark to start the year he’ll start complaining about it not being fair Texas is going to join.

Don’t forget LSU Georgia Auburn and Florida.
Bama isn’t the only team that wins titles
Since 1950
Alabama 13
LSU 4
Auburn 2
Georgia 2
Florida 3
Total- Alabama 13 the others 11

I hope they keep it at 8 just to stick it to Bama-Tennessee holding competitive balance hostage all these years.

Interesting since I looked at several of Alabama's past schedules. Alabama played Arkansas, Texas AM and Tennessee back to back to back.
I see where you are headed, but it is not Alabama fault when the teams on the schedule are not always as good as advertised.
It happens in every conference and every year.
You seem to think that Alabama manipulates its conference schedule, to have a n easy game before a hard one. That implies that Alabama knows how good or bad a team will be in a given year. That is a garbage take.

They absolutely do and have for a long time in a lot of different ways.
That mostly goes away in a 16 team league though.

That answer ain't good enough! Give us some examples and verifiable details...I'll wait.

the bridge schedule fiasco when A&M and Missou joined the league where the Alabama alum head of scheduling moved UGA off Alabama's schedule as is was originally supposed to be and moved it on to LSU's schedule. Your SECE opponents those 2 years had a combined conference record of something like 4-25 while ours were 25-4.
