Yep. Probably not a popular opinion, but isn't there a slight chance that the SEC office reached out to someone of his current stature and asked him to voice support for the league's decision? Wouldn't that be the best way to proceed from a PR (or otherwise a political-style) perspective, if you were attempting to unify its members?
So you’re going with logic?

Hopefully more people will now see that he's a hypocritical jackass who only cares about how rules effect him. The game will be far better off when he no longer has any sway over it's direction.
I always believed Nick never truly wanted a nine game schedule; he just knew it was smart to act like he wanted it when he knew no one else did. He came off as the guy who only wanted to play quality competition and every body else was scared. Now that it’s a legit possibility, his tune has changed. Hmmm . . .

Absolutely agree!
Was just sitting with a buddy at the bar last night talking about how Saban was wanting to limit or mandate the number of 5 stars each team gets in the name of fairness.

"Captain Insano shows no mercy."
(I agree, but calling Saban a “despicable narcissist who thinks he’s god” is pure awesomeness.)
Narcissistic personality disorder can be surprising. Sometimes it sneaks up on the most unsuspecting people.

He's definitely whining more now than before.
saban has always wanted the deck stacked in his favor.
He couldn't stop the HUNH so he complained about it.
He wanted a 9 game SEC schedule until he saw who his permanent opponents were. He then complained about it.

Coach Saban wants a level playing field and will not agree to anything less. You should know that by now. If 9 games create an unfair balance for ALABAMA then the SEC will hear it.
Ok. So how is it an unfair balance for Alabama?

Alabama would be the only school with 3 Big 6 level perm opponents isn’t stopping it, nor did Saban ever lobby to keep it at 8 games.
Which is a silly argument. Every big 6 team now plays against 3 other big 6 teams. And with the proper rotation we would still play 3 in a single year.

The main ingredient that goes into being the best coach of all time. I can see why that would be confusing.

Actually, he started playing HUNH and did it better than most.

Like insisting on a level playing field? Football sure is hard down on the Plains.

“Ok. So how is it an unfair balance for Alabama?”
There are 6 teams in the current sec that have/could/will win the national title. They are
Bama
Auburn
UGA
LSU
Tennessee
Florida
Bama would have 3 of those as perms. Nobody else is even in the least bit remotely close to that number save auburn who would have two of them but aubie would also get vandy. If you can’t see this then you just aren’t wanting to see it.

You are on an unfair playing ground now. You insisted on keeping UT as your rival. Now that they are showing signs of life, you don't want them as one of the three. How is that a "level playing field"?

If you take the time to come to rantville, how is it you don't know what BAMA rival would not qualify in the Big 3?
Turn your barner card in. You are unworthy.

since the league expanded, Auburn plays three of those teams every year. In the last four years we have also played both UF and UT on top of that. But bama wants a "level playing field"?

I want nine conference games plus permanent non-conference games against Kansas and Illinois. And the last non-conference slot to rotate between Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas State, and Iowa State.
Screw FCS games. And if we must schedule G5 games, at least schedule good ones.
I've said it before, I'd rather watch Mizzou be 4-8 lovable losers than 6-6 or 7-5 with wins against the little sisters of the poor propping us up.
