I don't think Bama fans understand, Kirby goes with Saban to the NFL, only to return to Bama after Kiffin has left the program in shambles.....

Can I barrow that crystal ball of yours for some gambling?

So you say no coaching experience is better than a bad coaching experience?

Would you rather have me coach Bama over Kiffin? I've never failed as a coach in my life.

It's just weird that in one discussion, you guys are gushing over the hire (most suspect this is a mechanism to hide your true feelings) and in another, you're flipping out at the thought of him leading the team (the evidence for the above suspicion).

What do people think Kiffin is a HCIW? He is just using Bama as way to get a restart on his career.

We all know Kiffin was never expected to be the man at U$C long term.

He is obviously the gumps choice to replace Saban, and I for one fear that day.

Well if nothing other than to see the Crimson Meltdown.....

but Saban isn't going to any other college program outside of Notre Dame maybe. I think he is ready to move on and it will be either retirement or the NFL.

So, answer this, if Saban retires after a NC this year, who gets the job, Smart or Kiffin? Nicky knows that answer....

I agree anyone who thinks about Bama football for an extended period of time must have a shitty life.

Oh, good lord. Now the new job he'll leave for is Notre Dame (again). Jesus H. Christ this stuff never gets old for you guys, does it? Just throw shite against the wall for a decade and hope something finally sticks.

I doubt it. Saban will be there a few more years. If Kiffin does well and keeps his foot out of his mouth he'll probably get another HC job in the future.

UAB doesn't count . He might it it against us though. I believe his wife is from up this way though, so that might help a little. I just think they will throw a lot of money at him before they would name Smart.

Fisher and his wife both went to Samford. His wife is a Birmingham native and most of her family still lives here.

I thought she was from the Bham area, I just wasn't sure. I'm not even sure that would play into his reasoning. I remember him being a QB under Bowden at Samford, I didn't know his wife went there as well.

If Bama offered Fisher the job, he'd take it. He's basically a Bobby Bowden clone, and Bowden is on record saying he would have jumped at the chance to coach Bama.

Yeah Bowden's whole time at FSU he kept a memorabilia book that's twice the size of anything he has compiled even about his coaching days at FSU, and it is full of Bama memorabilia he has collected

Remains to this day a huge fan of the old glory days of Bear etc at Bama
