Bamafan reactions are even more hilarious.

What exactly about "at-large selections" is giving you selective amnesia about how this process has worked since its inception?

2. The champions of the Atlantic Coast, Big East, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12, and Southeastern conferences will have automatic berths in one of the participating bowls through the 2013 regular season. 3. The champion of Conference USA, the Mid-American Conference, the Mountain West Conference, the Sun Belt Conference, or the Western Athletic Conference will earn an automatic berth in a BCS bowl game if either: A. Such team is ranked in the top 12 of the final BCS Standings, or, B. Such team is ranked in the top 16 of the final BCS Standings and its ranking in the final BCS Standings is higher than that of a champion of a conference that has an annual automatic berth in one of the BCS bowls.
This is why I can see how he can bring conference/division championships into the Bowl Berths and not the BCSCG.

I guess no one even read the quote. He's talking about the loser not getting a Sugar Bowl bid over Florida and having to go to the Capital One.

Explain the benefit of being able to play for the possibility of being the SEC Champion? Why?

the loser would not be the conference champion and would have 2 losses.

I come from a family full of lawyers, so I tend to find simplistic interpretations of rules to be wrong. I typically see the both sides of coins regardless of the team I root for. To me, it's always beneficial to see where someone is coming from before deeming him or her a hypocrite.
I think it's ridiculous that a team like Kent State could be in the BCS. That said, I could see how LSU fans who think they should be in before Kent State could be thought hypocritical for thinking that they should jump them even though they don't have a conference or division championship, after the conference/division championship complaints.

Funny how he didn't lobby for UT when he unceremoniously sent them to the Citrus in 2001. Guess who did get to go to a BCS bowl, though. Florida, just like what will happen this year.

Yea man, he should'a avoided that question. No need to even respond. I'm still convinced that the loser of the SEC CG will be heading to The Capital One.

I understand the benefit of playing for an SEC championship. My point that past that, the division champion is lost in the muddle. I don't really understand why they don't pick #1 vs #2 for SECCG, regardless of division. For all of the people who think you should have won a division to get into the National Championship, but then who think winning a division is worthless when choosing a bowl berth is a bit hypocritical.
That's my point.

I saw it as a plea for more than two BCS bids for a conference, but people are going to take from it what they want.

Exactly what is wrong with this? If UF had 2-3 losses I would understand. With only 1 loss and the toughest SOS in the country, I think UF deserves to go over a team with 2 losses. Sorry.

I didn't see anything about divisional champions getting a preference for the BCS bids.
