I like a bye after 8 games. If you make it through like Bama and LSU then you get a very needed rest, but have only 4 games to go. It's a risk, but nice reward imo.

Right, LSU led 34 to 13 at the end of the 3rd. So where is the need for an excuse until the 4th quarter? The game was well in hand before the 4th even began. Say what you will, Saban's comments were an excuse, spin it all you want.

The only difference between the amount of time put in by LSU players and Alabama players is approximately one hour of playing time. While the McNeese game was cancelled, the team did not get anytime off or rest beyond the game time itself. It wasn't like a bye week. Not much of a difference in all actuality.

But, in 2005, playing 10 in a row (AFTER two fricking hurricanes, the roster losing an average of 14 pounds per player in three weeks, and having to sleep with 20 relatives in their one- or two-bedroom apartments for a couple of months) was no excuse for losing to Georgia (WAY better than this year's Tennessee), right?

So, the Saban excuse train is, so far...

Lost to Auburn because the HUNH just isn't fair,

Lost to Oklahoma because it wasn't the national championship game,

Lost to Ohio State because players got their draft evaluations during the preparation period, and now

Stunk it up against Tennessee because they had to play eight whole games in a row.

Right.

Just because he likes giving excuses doesn't make them invalid. Certainly playing 8 games in a row is quite valid when saying they looked tired.

Do you really need excuses for a win?

That was his choice. They played eight games in a row because LSU was the ninth game. If LSU had been the seventh game, it would have been six games in a row. He chose it, as did we, so there's no valid reason to use it as an excuse.

Saban says something obvious - LSU fans lose their shite. It's almost like I've seen this before.

Prediction- When Saban is asked about LSU, if he says that they are great, then LSU fans will say he's scared. If he doesn't say they're great, then LSU fans will say he's stupid, doesn't know football anymore, and is going to piss off LF7.

I can say this about rantards- at least they're too dumb to be unpredictable.

This two week games were his hardest. He managed a weak team in between most of the hard teams. He plays Tennessee before he has a bye week to get ready for us. He doesn't have a gauntlet like we have starting with Bama with 4 in a row. Of course I just think it's the SEC not giving a crap.

I don't think the SEC was giving us the shaft or anything. It's just that they have been so desperate to bring us a rival, so they tried Arky and now A&M. Both of them so desperately want us to be their rivals that they absolutely must play us late in the year. Alabama and LSU have always played in early November and nobody wanted to change that. We used to play Ole Miss the week before Alabama, but we didn't like that because it used to be a big game (and now is again) and we would always have to play that one and then turn around and face Bear Bryant next, which wasn't that great for us. So, I figure we wanted to change that order, so the traditional Halloween weekend LSU-Ole Miss timing has had to change, so it, too, got moved to a later part of the season. As a result, our November is pretty stacked up with Alabama, Ole Miss, Arky and Aggy. Honestly, I'd rather move Arky up to earlier in the season so we could schedule a cupcake in there somewhere, but it is what it is. Now that Arky will have Mizzou to be their rival, maybe the LSU-Arky game won't HAVE to be a late November thing every year in the future, but who knows?

Playing arguably the toughest schedule has taken its toll on the team.
Sure others have played as many games in a row as Bama, but not the tough schedule Bama has played.

Let's see...

Wisconsin - Good win
Middle Tennessee - Easy win (bye week)
Ole Miss - Bad loss
ULM - Easy win (bye week)
UGA - Good win (not as impressive with where UGA is now though)
Arkansas - Good win (tough game)
aTm - Easy win (not competitive at all)
Tennessee - Good win (tough game)

Two relatively mediocre/decent games out of eight???

It's not like LSU's schedule is difficult either seeing as how the SEC is not really on par this year; so go ahead and post it if you feel like that's necessary...

From what I saw, he is spot-on.

Yes, it's incorrect. Kids don't get tired. Robinson is playing like a rookie LT. The qb's legs were fine, he isn't great. Etc, etc etc

If Bamako had been forced not to practice, Saban would have blamed it on his team not getting enough work.

It's just who he is. No one should every give Bama a good game in his twisted mind. There's an excuse from him no matter what.

What I saw was the Tenn coaches did a better job of having their team ready.

Amen brother, that's what we all saw. Saban's excuse was weak. Les Miles doesn't use weak sauce.

Really? You don't think football players get fatigued muscles? You don't think some of them are playing through injuries right now? Clearly you have never played football.

You don't think any of them lost sleep over Tenpenny's death? We all want to believe that these players are machines, but they are not. I imagine the death of a teammate loomed heavy on them, particularly since the funeral was on Saturday. I imagine i wouldn't be very productive if I had to work through a buddy's funeral.
