Wow you guys blew this way out of proportion. I was expecting Saban to give him the stone cold stunner and then an elbow drop. This is really no big deal.

He did hit him and that should not be! There is not a Coach anywhere that has the right to hit any player no matter what or what for! That should have been shown over and over so that other kid's can see what they will face if they should decide to play for Saban.
Eh ... hopefully nobody is going to seriously complain that Saban "hit" the player. It WAS a rather forceful "pat" on the butt, but it wasn't inappropriate. However, I WILL say this -- I've seen other coaches chew out/reprimand/counsel players more discretely -- when Miles wants to make a point w/ a player, on the sidelines, he usually turns his back to the field while he's talking to the player. He doesn't feel compelled to make a big show out of it, like certain other coaches. I DO think that is behavior that recruits should consider. Saban is a narcissistic, egotistical jerk. No need to so publicly chew out the player.

Only problems I have with it is that he has never done shite like that to mcelroy, and he has actually done much worse all year. The throw would have been a TD had he put a liiiiiitle bit more on it.

Nick Saban - 21st Century Woody Hayes!

what's funny is alabama fans think this was a GREAT move by saban and showed how great of a coach he is. The reality is that saban got embarrassed on national television last week and that was a calculated move.....trying to regain his "STATURE"...lol......Nic is and has always been a very good coach....his god like status has always been a joke. He is a good coach, along the lines of miles...period...the difference is that he is an a-hole and a fake...miles is genuine.

It was a horrible throw, and you are full of shite if you think GMac has done much worse. I am not happy with Gmac myself either.

I think Saban knows the potential AJ has and he wants to do all he can to bring it out in him. You have to take a great athelete and make him think he can always get better. AJ is a great athelete but he has a long way to go with respect to knowledge of the game. McElroy has forgotten more about managing a game the AJ a tthis point in their careers.
Aj will be one of the greatest QB's that ever played at Alabama.

Well, I am shocked. Shocked.

I meant that mcelroy has done much dumber shite before. Sure, mccarron should have thrown it away....but mcelroys arse would have taken the sack on that play. What about that simple pick mcelroy gave their LB earlier in the game? Pathetic....but where is the video of saban ripping mcelroy?
All I'm saying is that if that one incompletion warranted that much of a rip, We should have been seeing mcelroy get his arse handed to him all year...
