Great post by you. Also it wasn’t just the Kick 6…had the Prayer at Jordan Hare not happened vs UGA, Bama would still have gone to the SECCG, then most likely the Natty, even with the Kick 6 happening.

In all seriousness there was a period of time, back when recruiting meant more than dropping bags & Nick Saban was a mere mortal — when LSU & Bama were battling for king of the west.
2011 is the one everyone points to, but the Yeldon screen & PP7 toe-touch paved the way for that one to happen.
For a run like that, you have to be lucky and good. Saban was a hell of a college football coach.

The 2016 loss to CU was even harder to swallow. CU offense was 100 plays - 0 holds, 0 false starts, 0 OPI.
The k6 was like, WTH just happened???

2015: Alabama fails to recover the onside kick, or Jake Coker misses the long third-down pass to ArDarius Stewart.
2017: Nick Saban stays with Jalen Hurts and never puts Tua Tagovailoa in the game.
2020: COVID never happens.
And don't forget jerkwater, 2007-2010. The time Cignetti was on the Saban ALABAMA staff learning to be a college football coach.
