Russell talks, gets suspended vs. Cam whores, plays all the way through

Another example of how backwards the NCAA infractions commitee is.
I worked for the infractions appeals committee a decade ago and it was baffling how inconsistent and illogical the penalties, and the rationale behind them, that were handed out where. We (M Slive) even issued a notice to them telling them that something had to be done on the consistency front.
I don't want to hear about ongoing investigations or anything else. Just pure stupidity.

So who suspended him? LSU or NCAA

LSU suspended him not the NCAA. That's the difference. Auburn took a risk. Right now nothing has gone against them.

LSU suspended him and are looking at the NCAA to be the ones to reinstate him.

uh, you're not going to get a sympathetic reception over here.

Probably what that guy said, I didn't read everything on it. But whoever does the suspending, it's the NCAA IC that ultimately calls the shots. And SUGGESTED something be done.

I would be shocked if it weren't the NCAA who initiated or suggested that Russell be suspended. LSU had to make the call, but I'd be willing to bet that the NCAA nudged them in that direction based on what they knew.
JMHO, of course.

I'm sorry, where did I see NCAA is setting Russell?
And can you link me to the independent report where Cam received money?

Not looking for sympathy, I knew what I'd get on this page. BUT I do know some of my ex-coworkers, and others in the business, lurk this board, and others, and I was sending a message.
LSU's ccompliance staff can't sleep right now, and are at a loss that all this shite is coming to get them at once. Russell took the first bullet.

the NCAA doesn't suspend players
Posted on 8/26/11 at 8:17 am to cheeriopiss
LSU suspended Russell, not NCAA. They are suspending him in case he is later declared ineligible, we won't have to forfeit any games. So we are waiting on NCAA to say Russell is eligible (or ineligible). Which will take weeks or months probably.

The NCAA reinstated Newton in about 24 hours. Let's how long it takes them to reinstate RS.

Correct, They rule them ineligible either from hence forth or retroactivley pending reinstatement

Chimlin you're playing a game of semantics. Most on here don't care if someone is suspended or declared ineligible. Same result, different trigger man.

LSU doesn't want their program to take a hit. The barn gambled, and it's about to come up snake eyes with the NCAA.

Alabama fans have all the inside sources into Auburn's program.
