Looking to change out the grips for comfort and so I can keep them in their current state. I want to keep this one as stock or change only things I can reverse. If I fall in love with this platform (current glock lover), then I would like to get a custom job with all the bells and whistles down the road.

I'm seeing now that vz is .270" vs my .250" stock grips. I'm wondering if there will be a noticeable difference that I'm looking for. I guess I'll have to look for a shop that has them in stock to see.

I'm guessing VZ's standard thickness are thicker than my stock wood with the colt medallion (0.25" I believe)?

I just picked up an early 80s series 70 govt model from my dad, and wanted to hit up the board for some advice.
This one is 100% stock and in great condition, but I would like to change out the grips and sights.
I would like to put on some thicker grips, and would like to hear some recommendations on places to get the sights changed in the Lafayette area.
Also, this is the first blued pistol I've had, and would like to hear your thoughts on holsters that limit wear and any opinions on storage in bore store brand cases.
I'm looking forward many days at the range with this thing.

Might as well remove the exit on I-49 if they close down the VP plant.
Schlumberger Buys Cameron International

Schlumberger Ltd., the world’s largest oilfield-services provider, agreed to buy Cameron International Corp. for $66.36 a share in a $14.8 billion deal that creates greater one-stop shopping for crude explorers.
quote:
“With oil prices now at lower levels, oilfield services companies that deliver innovative technology and greater integration while improving efficiency, which our customers increasingly demand, will outperform the market,” Paal Kibsgaard, chairman and chief executive officer of Schlumberger, said in the statement. “This agreement with Cameron opens new and broader opportunities for Schlumberger.”

I know that Cameron has a couple of facilities around Louisiana. Wonder what this means for the Cameron folks.

All of these have their differences, but all are good reads
