Stadium expansion to 70K, a new state of the art indoor practice facility, raises for the assistants, and a 6-8 year contract. Mullen is getting everything he has asked for to stay.
He will be at State awhile. And with 17 starters returning in 2011, we are going to win at least 8 again- probably more. Get used to it people. State is going to be a factor in the SEC West for years to come.
(and yes, I know the state of Mississippi only allows 4 year contracts, but the rest of his deal is thru the Foundation, which is private and pays most of his salary- so they can do as many years as they want)

Did the donor find that this would be a quicker way to get rid of the money than just straight up burning it?

SEC West Standings

What do you mean by factor? I looked back on the SEC West standings on ESPN and it only goes back to 2002.
1 4th place finish is the best yall did. Besides that yall claimed 5th or 6th in the West. (The SEC West has 6 teams fyi, so yall suck arse)

He means in the future dipshit. As long as we have Mullen we will continue to improve and in a few years time will probably win the west.

Sounds like 1999.

Yall are better but still finished 5th. Zero improvement there.

I don't think it will ever happen. Arkansas makes a run every 3-4 years. B/t LSU, Alabama, and Auburn, 2 of those will be in the hunt to win it every year. No room for Ole Miss or Miss St. Yall are a skidmark on the West.

The 2000's were bad due to probation and then our AD making the worst hire in SEC history for a football coach- which cost said AD his job.
We have a new administration and a new coach. 2010-2015 will look nothing like the 2000's for us.

You understand to WIN the west you have to come in 1st place right? You really think you will finish above Arkansas, Alabama, LSU, and Auburn? You must have banged your cowbell on your head too many times.

We also finished 3-0 vs the East- so yes, there was improvement.
This was also an unusual year, with 4 teams in the West finishing with 10 wins. That probably isnt going to happen again- unless we take Aubarn's spot in double-digit wins next year.

Where did I say win the West? I said be a factor. But I know one damn thing- we are a helluva lot closer now than we have been in 10 years.
And the team that went to OT with you guys this year and should have beaten you- will be better in 2011.

Hell will freeze over before one person donates 100 million or more to the Mississippi State athletic department.

One of your Miss St buddies on here said win the west soon. Only 3 won 10+ games. Arkansas, Auburn, and LSU.

It wasnt quite 100 million- but it's already been donated

you really dont think we can ever win the west? Seriously? The west will never be as good as it was this year. We had Chris Relf as our starting qb, won 8 games and very easily could have beaten auburn and arkansas and your telling me we will never win the west? maybe not next year or the next 5 but sometime down the road we will win the west.

How much was it ? He gave your honors college 10 million. So he gave exponentially higher to the athletics program? Just curious.

to be honest if i had 100 million to give away I would probably give 90 mil to the athletics and the rest to the school.

Yes, I don't think yall ever win it. Not this century at least. If the winner had to come in 5th or 6th place yall would be all over it but that's not the case. You have to finish 1st.

You do realize if Cecil Newton doesn't get involved, MSU would have been in the SEC Championship Game, right?
