From now on, anytime you are thinking of replying to one of my posts, just step back from the keyboard and say this three times, "bamaatlsu is smarter than me"
Yeah, I get what the long and short was. But he made an incredibly hypocritical comment after saying alabama fans were hypocritical.

Nothing hypocritical at all in what I was saying. Saban wasn't doing this kind of stuff while at LSU. He has gotten worse. When he lied at Miami, Bama fans said it was no big deal because all coaches do that kind of stuff. They brought up Miles, Tuberville, and everyone else they could think of to justify what he did. Okay, I'll grant you that. But, Saban has continue to lie and is doing it in recruiting on a major level. He says that it is all about the kids but he is running off 12 kids a year to make room for the new flavor of the month. That's HALF a recruiting class each year! This is not your normal attrition and everyone knows it. So, around HALF of the guys that Saban is recruiting by promising their Mommas that he cares what kind of man they are going to be are getting pushed out the door if they aren't starting by their Junior year.
And, Alabama fans love it! They cheer him on! They say "good riddance" to the guy who busted his tail for 2-3 years and gets his schollie pulled because he is not as good as the guy who hasn't even made it to campus yet.
Awesome!

Really? I swear I have heard plenty of LSU fans bitching about him over signing before he went to Miami.

you should respond to this. i started a thread for it, but it seems like i'm only catching responses in other threads.
HERE's my OP to a thread i started a couple days ago.
"What do I do if I'm a college football headcoach at a major football program?
When I visit college football recruits in their homes what is my sales pitch? What do I tell them? do i promise them play time? do i make them ANY promises? do i do WHATEVER it takes to get them to sign with me? do i view the whole thing as a business?
If I'm Nick Saban, Les Miles or Urban Meyer I think my job is to do whatever it takes, that's legal, to achieve success and do my very best to make my promises a reality for each player. The reality is that each kid knows this is a business. If they don't, then they've got some growing up to do. REAL head coaches do what they have to do to suceed right? I mean, if i was a RECRUIT, and i wanted to play ball under Nick freaking Saban, i'm gonna know i gotta be the best out there... i gotta know that if i can't out perform enough athletes out there that I'm not gonna make the cut. college football in the SEC and any major division is like pre-pro's. they've been through the routine at highschool and beforehand. each one of these players has made the cut each time up until now. now their college careers are starting and the competition is -that- much harder.
I guess the impetus for my post here is that Alabama's recruiting classes are as they are...too full. People have been wanting to knock the business part of players not making the cut or being good enough of our team since we started nailing top recruiting classes... and they've wanted to put a knock on Saban's integrity for it. And it got me to thinking... doesn't this go on at every top tier program? This is the real world. Handshake deals mean a lot. But being the best means more.
I want y'all's spin on this. Does it show a lack of integrity to over sign and then know you'll have to make some cuts? I mean, we don't know what words Saban or Miles or Meyer uses when they talk turkey with a player. Maybe they reserve big words like "promise" for the best possible recruits in a class. And hypothetically, if they did use the word "promise" to EVERY single recruit, let me pose one more question...
Is it more important to stand by that integrity filled promise and LOSE... or make the cut, put your best players in.... and win?
*to be noted* I can't remember the percentage exactly, but I think somewhere around 5% of college football players get into the pros. That being said, the education side of the college they choose to go to is truly important."

Yeah, but 2005 was a corrective year and we took 13 players. Saban didn't stick around long enough to suffer the consequences of his actions, but he didn't run off 12 players a year to bring in 12 more that had never worn the purple and gold. That is what he's doing now.
But, go ahead. Keep defending it. Like I said, it makes perfect sense that Bama fans would like this kind of thing.

so if you were a head coach, you're telling me that you'd rather keep your "integrity" than win a game? you'd rather LOSE?
you'd never be real head coach at a top tier program pal.

Miles is our head coach.. and all indications point towards him placing a very high value on integrity.

"It's not personal. It's business." "To beat the best, you gotta be the best... " yada yada... cliche as thhose statements are, they're true.

yessir, we want to win. I dont care about the feelings of our players. Those kinds of feelings are for pussies, and we dont need pussies on our football team.

except for when he dropped the F-bomb at that party when he was asked about his first matchup vs Saban last year?

You are comparing using an expletive to having integrity?
