I just don't think anyone who has ever lived an interesting or extraordinary life would ever think they could know what motivates Nick Saban.

Based on the fact that anything is better than Tuscaloosa.

Anyone who thinks they know Nick Saban, knows that he and Terri are absolutely bonkers over Cleveland.

Hell, who could blame them?

I don't think this at all.
Things are different now. Saban tried the NFL. I don't think he tries it again.

Cleveland is a gem of a city; and with all the connections the Sabans have to the area it's a mystery why he hasn't already brought a dozen Lombardi Trophies to The Browns.
Head Coach of the Cleveland Browns is a destination job. Top of the mountain. Nick will have really arrived then.

Most importantly, his gargantuan ego will be sated until he leaves to rebuild Auburn after two years.

He sits back in his pitiful little office and looks at his crystal balls and rings and weeps for his unsatisfied ego. He knows they're all laughing at him... all the real coaches like Pete Carroll.
He needs The Browns more than they need him.

Not only this, but he can only slake his ego so much with the knowledge that he has more rings than Carroll.

I could see Saban going to the Cowboys before Cleveland. Jerry Jones is not going to put up with the current situation much longer. He might offer Saban the moon to make a PR splash.

Will Jerry Jones subsequently relinquish control of the Cowboys to Saban?

If he wins BCS, he will bolt. Maybe.
Depends on the offer package. Saban has shown to have 2 things: peerless coaching ability, and a price.
If he doesn't win, he'll stay.

As a Vol fan, I would find it hilarious.
as an LSU fan, i would find it hilarious too. however, i would also find it extremely surprising for him to go to the pro's at any price. he failed there and he has it going at bama. maybe he'll get bored but he is 62 yrs old.

The real question here
What college football team will Saban go to next after 2 years in the NFL?

Isn't it interesting that there is a new rash of "SABAN TO ANYWHERE BUT ALABAMA" threads now that LSU has dropped a game?
I seem to remember being told in 2007-
-Saban never stays anywhere longer than 4 years
-Saban always loses one game he shouldn't
-Saban has never gone undefeated
-blah blah blah blah
Doesn't seem LSU fans know Saban as well as they would like to think.
