Now would you be saying that if it was your young son or daughter who got killed by a drunk driver doing 150+ mph?

I hope the family of the daughter killed takes every dime from this POS.

According to witness testimony the woman in the car was screaming as she burned to death. Ruggs gets no sympathy.

She and her dog died in that, a horrible death. He should rot in jail.

It’s up to the judge. Honestly, I think the bond is fair, and humane. The penalty of the consequences for his actions will result in years of Prison. The Judge is basically letting him be with his family for last time in years, for something he’s guilty of, but didn’t do with purpose. I think they’ll come down hard on him, and the judge is being reasonable at this point in time.

Do not know how true this is but I heard teams have transportation means for players if they were in need of a ride to avoid situations like this.

I've seen a 100k higher bond for a lesser crime

We’ve had Murder 1 charges with 50K bond.

School murderer black kid recently had a 50K bond as well.

The disparity in bonds is very unnerving. Intentional murder nets you 50k bond, involuntary manslaughter is 150k

Someone posted in another thread about that. They provide credits for ride sharing services, just have to call a number.

He wasn't charged with murder one which typically commands the million dollar bails and so forth.

Yeah, that is it. Crazy. Something an average citizen does not even get the privilege of having. Hurts to see how easily this could have been avoided.

I'm sure some of you have read about the guy in Washington that killed the sex trafficker bf of his daughter that sold her into sex slavery.

His bond, $1,000,000.

Google "nfl ride service for players" and a bunch of stuff comes up dating back to 2010. There's too much to link here.

Yeah just read an article on it. Seems to be available for former NFL players as well.

I bet the family of the girl killed would have liked to get one last time with their daughter but now they never will. I feel no sympathy for a drunk flying down the road at 150mph. Lock him up and throw away the key.

Keyshawn Johnson made a good point too that it's dumb to bring your car to the club anyway since no one is really gonna see it because they're all inside the club. It's an obvious observation, but I thought it was still a pretty powerful statement coming from a former athlete and someone that says he has a strong relationship with Ruggs.

Definitely a pride thing amongst some NFL players I feel like. What player would want to roll up to a club in a souped up Uber. They want to drive their $300k car to show off for a few seconds. Hopefully this incident shows those players that have this “pride” issue to start using the resources they are privileged to get.

Yep, I have no sympathy for him seeing his family except from being bars. He should die in prison.

After driving over 150mph while under the influence!??? Someone explain to me how that is rational.
Bail is not punishment and is set at a figure likely to assure that the defendant will appear for trial.

This guy was a drunk arse, but he is not a flight risk.

My personal 250k example was for under 20 plants... a victimless, non-violent offense But bond disparity is a real head scratcher.

It’s bullish!t that bonds get used as punishment (before actual due process) and based on how much money a person has…bonds should be set to the crime and fixed.

If the person is that big a danger or flight risk..then don’t let them out.

He is going to be broke in a few years by giving his money to his lawyers instead of the victim's family he devasted. He seems too toxic to land any type of job to maintain his standard of living while he hands over millions to his lawyers as he awaits his trial.
