Pac 12 plays their game at home because they don't think they can fill up a neutral stadium every year. It's bush league and sad really. There's a reason all the tiny conferences like CUSA and the MAC do it the same way.

New Orleans is the greatest city in the world. I am New Orleanian and an LSU fan. But Nashville is my second favorite city in the South. I also do not mind Dallas and love the entire state of Florida. My post is not about arguing for the SECCG to come to NOLA. It is about how unfair to the (now larger) SEC that it is in Atlanta every year. I am not even saying Atlanta should not host it. I am just saying the arguement to rotate it is larger now that the SEC has expanded to include more cities that can sustain the game (both from a travel and a stadium perspective).
True that Nashville is home to an SEC school, but I do not think anyone else would mind because it is just Vandy. If Vandy ever did make it to the SECCG game, as an LSU fan I would be proud of them even if the game was played in their city.
I am new to TD and do not know either why this thread was moved to the SEC thread. The last thing wanted to see was fans from other SEC schools arguing why the game should stay in Atlanta (especially BAMA fans who would probably also do not have any problem with the SEC Baseball tournament being in Hoover every year, which yes is also unfair). Maybe start a new thread on the SEC Baseball tournament, but no reason at all that should not rotate either.

Welp, that explains the delusion.

I was wondering the same thing. No reason why it should have been moved.

That's a drawback if tiebreak comes down to who is highest in a poll. I hate the idea of anyone outside of conference influencing decisions regarding the conference champion.
i hate the idea of not being able to plan where the SECCG is going to be. Which is why I suggest using the results from the year before. That way everyone knows 6 months in advance where the SECCG will be and can plan accordingly.

How so? Everybody in the SEC seems extremely content with it.

I agree that it sucks when Georgia makes the CG and Georgia fans buy up the majority of the unallocated tickets, creating a lopsided crowd to their advantage. And it's happened three times to LSU in our last few appearances, plus probably again this year if we make it.
But it's a nonissue if UGA doesn't make it, as Atlanta is the perfect location because of all the reasons previously offered.
Plus, should you really be bitching after the last two NC games LSU was in? That same "advantage" UGA occasionally gets was on our side, and both times the better team won. And i don't recall UGA beating anyone when they were not the better team. The "advantage" is not all that.

IF the SEC was to ever rotate (I like the game played in Atlanta) I would support going to the Pac-12 model of the higher ranked team hosting the game.

Tennessee worked yall too crowd-wise in 2007. I was there and stunned at how many more fans they brought.

Nashville in December, great idea.

We have had an overwhelming majority all 5 SECCGs, with the exception of 04 AU which was about 50/50.

What is so bad about hartsfield?
I was probably being a little harsh on the ATL - it's no worse than Chicago. I've flown quite a bit out of the Top 7 (excluding LAX and JFK) and IAH, DEN and DFW seem to do a better job, overall.
Flying is just terrible since 9/11, period - it was getting better THEN shoe bomber and liquid bomber have made it just insufferable.

I would love to see the SECCG and the baseball tourny rotate between other. I am completely biased but think New Orleans would be a great option for both(well Metairie for baseball).
I certainly wouldn't be holding my breath for any of that though.
Houston I think would be another good option for football, and Memphis for baseball

Another victory at a (un)neutral site, and another reason why I disagree with the OP. In reality it's not unfair, and there is no real advantage. Plus I live in Charleston and its only a 4 hr drive.

Agree I think they should rotate with top bids from Tampa atlanta Nashville new Orleans and Dallas etc winning out.

That's why in my biased opinion I like the idea of New Orleans. The Dome is only 20 minutes away

There's also the whole "If we move the game out of Atlanta, even on rotation, the ACC will swoop in and take the Georgia Dome."
The ACC would do ANYTHING to play their game in Atlanta.
The ACC would do ANYTHING to play their game in Atlanta.
