Where to watch the bowl game in Lagos, Nigeria?
Posted by Smoke Dinardo on 12/14/14 at 12:44 pm
I'm celebrating Christmas in Lagos with some relatives and want to know where I can find other Tiger fans on Dec. 30. Any suggestions?
Would you have rathered Texas Bowl?
Posted by Smoke Dinardo on 12/8/14 at 6:11 am
Against Texas? In Houston? I would have. Better matchup in my opinion. Does anyone feel we got screwed? Why does Arkansas go to much farther south bowl than us? Norte Dame fine, but in Nashville? Not ideal. I feel Arkansas was put ahead of us in pecking order and we had better record?

Did the SEC always have s tie in to the texas bowl in Houston? Is it realistic for us to go there and play Texas?
What do you think Kentucky game time will be?
Posted by Smoke Dinardo on 9/24/14 at 9:11 am
I want to bring my 1 year old to a game this year but it has to be a 230 game. Is Kentucky likely to be a 230 game maybe on the sec network? Please advise. Thanks
re: Even with more seats Tiger Stadium will never be like it use to be

The people that made Tiger Stadium aren't going to as many games anymore because of neutral site and cupcake games. I know because I am one of them. I never thought something like scheduling would affect my desire to attend games but it has. I am not going to pay full price for season tickets with 3 cupcakes. That's on LSU. And I've said before neutral site is just plain going to ruin college football. College tradition is being pushed aside in favor of corporate. Both LSU and the NCAA are part of the problem. I may go to just Ole Miss and Bama thus year because I will feel that tradition a little bit. Give me a reason to pay good money to go to the other games. Sam Houston is not the answer.
LSU vs. Penn State in 2020?
Posted by Smoke Dinardo on 8/10/14 at 8:25 pm
LINK
I googled LSU 2016 schedule because I wanted to know when we went to Green Bay and saw this (see the link). It says we are playing Penn State in a neutral site in 2020? Any validity to this? If so where? Would be another let down in my opinion. Storied program in historic stadium and we will probably play them once in a new neutral site game in exotic Baltimore.

Can someone tell me when and where he said this:
It was a few years ago. He was heading in for halftime and some girl (might have been Erin Andrews) was asking about the other teams defense and Les described the other team's D line was starting to look a little bit "toughy". Yes sounds like tuffy. Anyone?

How Much does Scheduling factor into your enjoyment of College Football?
Posted by Smoke Dinardo on 5/3/14 at 10:33 pm
Scale of 1-10?
For me it's a 9. This decade so far compared to 2000-2010 had been a major let down for me.
1) I have always been against scheduling cupcakes. I would be okay with one a year. But Sam Houston, Towson, Furman??? Come on.
2) I hate neutral site games. If you want to see a game in Dallas or Atlanta or Houston, go to a Saints away game.
3) I am really upset about the 6-1-1 format. I like playing Florida every year but think it is a cop out for the SEC to stay at 8 games in conference. We should be at 9 like the others and it should be a 6-1-2 format.
I don't like where CFB is going for all these reasons involving scheduling, and I'm just not as excited as I used to be for the upcoming season. Anybody else this affcted by scheduling factors? Scale of 1-10?

re: LSU to play Arizona St. & UCLA

1) I went to ASU in 05 and it was awesome! Not sure why we need to do another home and home with them? I think that was a break even and don't think either school owes the other anything. Though I will go back to Tempe.
2) I'm still really pissed off Wisconsin is neutral site and we cannot go to Madison,
3) I'm still even more pissed off the OU home and home was cancelled.
4) I totally don't get the Syracuse thing? Personally I've always wanted to see Tigers take over the Big Apple. We should have played Rutgers or someone closer to the city.
5) I love the fact we are playing in California, especially the Rose Bowl. I will do everything I can to he there. But honestly, I think it will be cancelled before it ever happens.

No question. My last game as a student in grad school-Capiral One Bowl loss to Iowa in 04. Saban's last game. Just left a bad taste in my mouth
re: What was the best/favorite thing that happen while you were a student?
Posted by Smoke Dinardo on 3/3/14 at 5:24 pm
Did undergrad and grad school back to back and was there between 98 and 05. So I was there during the football turnaround, which was not a single event, but great to be a student during. Had a baseball NC in undergrad and a football NC in grad school. Both were awesome .
But the best was Auburn game in 2001 (my "first" senior year).
The game was postponed to Dec due to Sept. 11. They played "God Bless America" during a break and the entire student section sang in unison. Yes I was drunk as were all of us but we all had tears in our eyes. Will not forget this the rest of my life.
Then we win to win the SEC West and stormed the field for these the second week in a row. That was awesome but the patriotism of LSU students at the time was overwhelming.

re: VT Game in 2007

Someone said nobody is upset about playing at Lambeau. Not true. That's probably what I am most pissed about because I have always wanted to go to Madison/Camp Randal for a good ole fashioned college game day experience. Now I probably won't in my lifetime.
This is why I like college football more than the NFL. This isn't the NFL. You want to go to Lambeau? Go when the Saints play the Packers.

VT Game in 2007
Posted by Smoke Dinardo on 2/25/14 at 11:35 am
I just read through the entire "Best arse whooping LSU has given an opponent in the last decade thread"
Before I even opened it, VT in 2007 popped into my head. It is also the overwhelming most popular answer in the thread. This is not by accident-LSU fans want more if these games in Tiger Stadium.
So lets start a new thread on the need to have more of these games in TS and nit fricking neutral site games. Wisconsin in TS next year would be reminiscent of VT in 2007. Instead it's fricking neutral site, which by the way is going to ruin college football! Who is with me?????
Let all the coaches and asst ADs who read this know we want more VTs in TS and not New Mexicos and Towsons. And if we want to see a football game in Reliant, we will go when the Saints play the Texans. College Football is better, just keep it on campus!!!!'

Will 2015 LSU/SEC Football Schedule be another "Bridge" Schedule?
Posted by Smoke Dinardo on 1/14/14 at 1:16 pm
In other words, when they finally do publish the completed 2015 football schedule (could be April, could be July, who knows?), will it be like the last 2 years where it's a bridge schedule and our East opponents make absolutely no sense?
Or will the SEC finally have a format that is universal for years going forward?
Been hearing they are "waiting" until the playoff format to start and the NCAA will demand the SEC plays 9 conference games, but heard that for a long time now
Does anyone know? I am tired of the inconsistency of bridge schedules.

Future Game in Football with BYU?

Found this with a simple google search of "2015 LSU football schedule."
I HATE not knowing who we are playing in upcoming years. I hate how they are "postponing" (canceling) the only good games (OU, ASU). I know the unknown of the 9 game SEC schedule is holding up 2015, but does anyone know any ballpark dates for this? When can we expect to know future schedules?
I love any good match ups and would love to play BYU ( to me more interesting than TCU), Though i am not sure if ttaveling to Utah would help in recruiting? I just want better opponents IN TIGER STADIUM. Anyone know if a BYU game is a real possibility?

re: SEC needs to move a "good" bowl tie in west
Posted by Smoke Dinardo on 12/24/13 at 9:58 am
Yes I have always wanted this! I hate bowl tie ins. I hate how if we don't make the NC there is a finite amount of destinations we can go to. I don't agree on Houston or St. Louis-I think it should be further west. More exotic like Phoenix or San Diego. The biggest point here is- why is there no bowl game that pits the SEC vs the PAC 12? Two major conferences and no bowl game?
I would even be happy if the Sun Bowl I'm El Paso was SEC vs PAC 12. Sick of Atlanta and Dallas and don't care for cap one bowl. I am excited about Tampa since its new, just not about opponent.
Good post- SEC needs more exposure out west.

Will Petrino benefit from any big coaching changes?
Posted by Smoke Dinardo on 12/13/13 at 12:49 pm
Saban to Texas and then Bama hiring Petrino would be as close to a strorybook ending as I can think of.
Just curious if anyone else thinks Petrino might somehow benefit because it seems like if Texas does get rid if Brown, even if Saban does not leave Bama, it will have a huge domino effect.

If Saban goes to Texas, does possibility of Home and Home increase?
Posted by Smoke Dinardo on 12/11/13 at 11:17 am
Pipe dreaming to think we may play in Austin because even if this did happen, we all know in today's pussified world it would be a neutral site game in Houston.
But if Saban goes there I can see this happening. Both he and Miles have alot of balls, think they would win, and would want to recruit the other state. The only reason people said a Tigers/Longhorns matchup would never happen is because Mack Brown has no balls.
Besides, say what you want, but I always have though Saban and Miles like and respect one another. I know some will disagree on this. Butthe question is-if Saban goes to Texas, do you think we may play them in a non bowl game in the near future?

Iowa has always been in my Top 5 Most Hated Teams
Posted by Smoke Dinardo on 12/8/13 at 9:35 pm
I've always hated them since I was a kid. Initially, it was because they were the team that hurt Alvin Mack in The Program. Then, of course, the Capital One Bowl debacle (I was there). In fact, I would say they are my 4th most hated team in the country.
1) USC-obvious reasons
2) Texas-because they are Texas
3) Miami-ghetto-fabulous
4) Iowa-aforementioned reasons
5) Oregon-tacky uniforms
Anyone else hate Iowa?

Why are we playing Kentucky at home again next year?
Posted by Smoke Dinardo on 11/27/13 at 3:42 pm
I have never been more confused about anything in college sports than this bridge schedule BS-----just seems like there is no method to the madness.
I am fully aware of the old rotation of opponents from the SEC east so no need to remind me. It's obvious the SEC heard the cry from LSU when ESPN took our side that us playing SC and UGA the last two years was unfair compared to Bama's horrible east opponents. So they reciprocate and give us Kentucky. I get that.
What I don't get is Kentucky came here in 2011. Why aren't we playing them in Lexington? And why snd them back again? Why didn't they give us Vandy or even Tennessee? Wouldn't the whole idea under a bridge schedule be to mix it up?
Does anyone know when this crazy bridge schedule would end?
I would have rather played Mizzou in that home game next year. I know they are better than expected but I like interesting match ups. Kentucky next year will almost be (yet another) cupcake game IMO.
