I can see Riley at LSU as most years, LSU is an elite QB away from the playoffs, at OU Riley is usually an entire defense away from advancing out the first game of the playoffs, but who knows, maybe Riley gets to LSU and does something stupid like hire Alex Grinch as his DC

Good news for LSU fans. SECW teams need coaches that don't struggle to beat 1-5 Kansas.

Good point. Paying $100 million to beat 2-5 Colorado by 1/4 the margin is much more impressive.

Hows your big money hire doing? I went to check for myself but can't find yall in any poll

I would agree, he needs to bail before they join the SEC.

Has he ever defeated an SEC team? Texas doesn't count!

Why would LSU want a coach that cant win a conference game?

Oklahoma is joining the SEC, Riley is gonna be in the SEC regardless. LSU has the better recruiting grounds than what Oklahoma does. Riley is making $7 million per season at Oklahoma, Orgeron is getting $9 million per year at LSU. LSU has been awarded 4 mythical national championships since the 2000 season, 2003, 2007 & 2019, all claimed, 2011 unclaimed. Oklahoma over the same time, 1 in 2000. LSU is his better option to be successful in the SEC !

He just beat Florida !!
Nick Saban was 34-24-1, while only having 1 season with less than 5 losses at Michigan St. before LSU hired him.
Les Miles was 28-24 at Oklahoma St. before LSU hired him.
Ed Orgeron was 17-29 before becoming the full time head coach at LSU.
All 3 of those coaches were awarded a mythical FBS football national championship at LSU !!
That’s why you take the LSU job !!

Because the LSU job is considered as being a top 1% job in major college football.
Who has the far better instate recruiting grounds ??
Who pays more money to their coaches ??
Won more mythical FBS football national championships since the 2000 season ??
Whether or not Riley stays at Oklahoma or was to go to LSU, well he’s still gonna be coaching in the SEC either way !!!
Which one of those 2 jobs gives you the best opportunity to be successful in the SEC ??
Now do you see why Riley would certainly listen to what LSU had to say if they wanted to talk to him ???
That doesn’t necessarily mean he would leave, but he would damn sure listen to what they had to say !!

Because the LSU job is considered as being one of the overall best 2 or 3 jobs in all of major college football. Oklahoma pays Riley $7 million per year, while Orgeron is getting paid $9 million per year at LSU !!
The only power 5 program in a state that’s one of the most talent rich states in the entire country. LSU’s last 3 head football coaches have all been awarded a mythical FBS football national championship at LSU. LSU, USC, Miami & Notre Dame are the only 4 power 5 football programs that’s had 4 different head coaches to be awarded a mythical FBS football national championship by at least one major wire service since the start of the poll era in 1936 !

But Jody if you don’t consistently compete for championships at LSU, the fan base will turn on you faster than you can blink

Big time money comes with big time expectations, that’s everywhere regardless of what you’re doing. The wins / losses were only a part of what got Orgeron at LSU. Orgeron after the 2019 season was more worried about being the celebrity, than what he was the head football coach. Unfortunately for him that decision ended up costing him his job !! Take that along with how they were losing, I don’t see how anyone could’ve expected it to ultimately end up any different than what it did for him. There were even outside reasons other than wins / losses that got Les Miles at LSU too !! The LSU AD gave Miles the opportunity to keep his job at the end of the 2015 season with a couple of conditions, which Miles agreed to. The very 1st thing Miles did at the start of the 2016 season, was exactly what he was told not to do anymore !!!
Wins & losses are a big part of it, but there not necessarily the only thing that gets a coach fired. It was a combination of both that got Orgeron & Miles at LSU !!

Really ??
LSU offered Jimbo Fisher $6.8 million a year over 5 years. Jimbo said he wanted a 10 year deal, LSU said no !! Fisher tells LSU he would take $6.4 million a year over 10 years. LSU again told Fisher no, we’re not giving you a 10 year deal for any amount of money. LSU told Jimbo thank you for your time, but we’re gonna move on to someone else.
Tom Herman has a handshake deal in place with LSU. Texas fired Charlie Strong, Tom Herman tells LSU that he wants to see what Texas has to say before he signs anything. LSU tells Herman that’s ok, but thank you for your time because we’re moving on to another candidate. LSU’s thinking was since they already had a handshake deal in place with Herman, well than he should’ve honored it regardless of what Texas did or didn’t do or say. Tom Herman ends up signing a contract with Texas for less money than what the LSU offer he had on the table was worth. LSU could’ve gotten either one of them had they wanted them bad enough. I mean Ed Orgeron is the 2nd highest paid head coach in all of FBS football, trailing only Nick Saban by around 1/2 a million dollars a year !!
If you’re gonna try to talk about something, well than you should at least take the time to google up what the actual truth is about that topic before making yourself to look like an idiot !!
Whose been awarded a mythical FBS football national championship since that time, LSU, Texas A&M or Texas ???
So who really came out on top anyway ???

That's quite an impressive list of decisions that show how stupid the people are that run things down there are.

Could've

Should've

Didn't.

Is this really a serious question as you pay someone with rocks for brains millions to go away and have to launch yet another doomed to be coaching search?
