Weird he rushed 12x for 6 yards vs The King of CFB

So what people fail to understand is the defense can shut down any one player it wants. However doing so will generally leave open other players that can beat them. Your average middle of the road team generally lacks elite players at every position capable of making Georgia "pay". So UGA leaves those players "open" or forces the offense to run through them, whether it be a TE/X/Y/Z/etc. Bama otoh has elite players at every skill position that can beat Georgia. They also have a qb with a unique skillset that happens to be almost tailormade for the matchup
"take what the defense gives you"
"take what the defense gives you"

he can "throw" but as weve seen he's very inaccurate from 15-20 yards

Yup.
All of our sacks are on third down. 100% of them.
For that reason, we are:
#6 in the country on scoring defense
#7 in the country in opposing QB passing efficiency
#5 in the country in opposing passing yards per attempt
#9 in the country in total defense.
#2 in the country in 3rd down conversion allowed.
#2 in the conference in most punts forced
#1 in the conference for fewest red zone trips allowed.
#1 in the conference for time of possession
It is working.

Not claiming to be some football savant, analyzing it is a fairly new hobby and I'm still learning. But the typical discussion between football fans is so elementary it's laughable. Just trying to open up discussion and hopefully learn some new things

Mclellan I love the kid but he's not the best back on the team.
I don't see anyone calling Saban/Rees an idiot for giving him 50% of your running back carries (rodell at 28%)

after rewatching the LSU game, it's so painfully obvious why milroe had the rushing day he had. the LSU ends kept taking themselves out of the play running BEHIND milroe. the other D players didn't stay in their lanes. just a really poorly coached defense. but we knew that already.
I don't expect georgia to make those kind of mistakes. I expect them to seal the edges and make milroe actually throw the ball into tight windows.

oh wow, three plays out of all of his throws. you got me there!
but seriously, if anyone thinks he's some super accurate QB they are lying to themselves.

Jalen Milroe completed only 1 of his 7 pass attempts of at least 15 air yards against LSU.
Posted on 12/1/23 at 2:29 pm to monsterballads
In five SEC games since being reestablished as the starter, Milroe completed 25 of 40 passes of at least 15 air yards for 764 yards and 11 touchdowns. That was an average of five completions per game on eight attempts.
No, He's not the same player he was in September, nor is Alabama the same team. He/Alabama has been improving steadily as the season's progressed. But he's still not an accurate QB.

I get what you are saying but I think most fans would be pleased with a 1st year QB that has a 66% completion percentage

The more eye opening thing is almost 50% of his completions >15 yards are going for TD's. Shows exactly how teams have to sell out to stop Bama's run, leaving them vulnerable down the field. Texas had the same issue when Milroe had time, but the pass rush was generally good enough to force him out of the pocket before those routes could develop

Both were called. Here is the thing about Milroe - he is fast but only in a straight line. He has no wiggle or lateral moves. He has trouble knowing/finding:
Line of scrimmage
first down marker
We've had at least 8 TD's called back this year mostly because Milroe can't make up his mind to run or pass and it causes other penalties (lineman down field, over line of scrimmage, holding, etc) the list is endless. There is some good with the bad obviously but he can make some real head scratching decisions at times.

The key to this being a game is Milroe staying on schedule and well within the offense.
I sure hope we make him feel uncomfortable and rushed tomorrow!

He’s deadly from 31 yards though, watch out

I think the point that many Bama fans are making, and rightfully so, is that there is not a large skill gap between RB1, RB2, and RB3. McClellan being out is not a good thing, but its by no means disasteous. In fact, Roydell and Jam are better edge runners, which plays directly into UGA's defensive weakness.
Regardless, we will see tomorrow.
