They were the little school that couldn't, never won a damn thing. I was glad for them when they won their 1st CWS. Now they are hated with "Honey, you can use your trust fund money to go anywhere but Vandy" hatred. Why? One frickin' greaseball wino who whistles until you have to watch games with the sound off. He is more annoying than cowbells and vuvuzelas.

I loved Vandy back in the day - been to many many football and basketball games there

It's not even just the Whistler. If anything he's mild compared to the stuff they've been pulling. Race baiting, disqualification of opposing teams

They have some fans who act smug even though they aren't any smarter than your typical fan from other SEC fanbases.
I don't like Vanderbilt, but I wouldn't say I hate them. Obnoxious assholes
exist in every fanbase. Vanderbilt baseball has been successful, and successful programs inevitably attract trashy fans who are emboldened to do stupid shite for attention.

Used to admire Vandy for not lowering their academic standards and taking their arse kickings like a champ. That was before they pulled the stunt with the girl soccer player dribbling the kickoff 25 yards and getting SEC player of the week honors. I feel like they deserve to get embarrassed week after week

I’ve never had hard feelings toward Vandy or Miss State. However, I remember a time when I would have been pulling for poor little Vandy. It’s been fun rooting for Miss State this week.

Vandy makes athlete entrance exceptions all of the time. Some years more than others, some coaches like James Franklin more than others.
They don’t care if they are good as long as they aren’t losing money. Baseball found a loophole to be ultra competitive.

All SEC schools are now in the R1 class with Vandy. Their AAU status is based on the amount of federal grants they get for research. MSU is academically closer to Vandy than 20 years ago. Thank the SECU for their work in advancing our conference.
