An LSU LB did the same thing to Corral this year and deservedly got the PF

That's called an illegal blind side block 10 times out of 10 these days. Targeting 9 times out of 10. I realize you can't accept a penalty being called on a Bama player, but its the era of football we are in.

I cant accept a penalty that wasnt even called? And wasnt even illegal when it happened?
LSU put up billboards over a completely illegal hit.
Blindside block rules changes came in 2019.
He does not come from outside his field of vision from what I can tell in that gif which is what blindside blocks are all about.
That is unless he has the worst peripheral vision of all time.... which he doesnt, cause he sees him and he turns and looks at him right before he gets slammed.
Would need a better angle of it to be sure, but from the gif I would say no.

Starting that slow backtrack. That is an illegal blindside block EVERY time, especially when it's on a QB. And, again, the only question is whether it's targeting. And these days I would be shocked if it wasn't. Of course if it were the Georgia player hitting the Bama QB you would be talking about how dirty it was.

I'll even guess when they put the illegal blindside block rule in, they probably showed that exact play as to what they were trying to prevent.

That’s nothing Reuben Foster used to knock himself out every spring and fall camp. Lol.
