Arrakis,

I don't understand what your trying to say.

This happened to Arkansas in the Cotton Bowl.

Per the rules once the punter kicks it he can not throw it or punt it again (it can only be ran forward. If he does it is a penalty.

But the penalty does force another punt.

OK, I misinterpreted what you were saying. I thought you meant if OSU fell on it (i.e. on the ground) they would get another down. I didn't know you were meaning if they simply picked it up.

Still, the Arky player should have realized the chances of an OSU player being able to pick the ball up and get a kick off from there isn't exactly likely (and that's an understatement).

He should've scooped and run.

The only way that he could've crapped the bed at that point would be to pick it up and then fumble it again. At the second fumble's recovery The Ohio State would then have the ball and 1st down.

No problem.

The original question said recover

If Ohio State recovered the ball
(gain possession).

I simply gave what OSU's options are if they gained possession of a blocked scrimmage kick that does not cross the LOS extended. Most fans don't know jack shite about the rules of the game....their responses are proof positive. I've officiated longer than most of the RantTards have been alive. I'd love to see their scores on the Rules Test. It would be a freakin' joke.

Have a great week and enjoy the win.
