I think he will be top half of the SEC for sure, but the hype has got to be tempered by any sane fan that has a clue about football.

He has to go to both Bama and LSU in his first year as a starter which is not an ideal way to bring in a new QB.

I think you will see a little dip in Arky's running game b/c they are losing 3 seniors on their oline that impressed me with their run blocking ability when I watched them. Of course, when breaking in a new QB, a good running game is key. So this could be a factor.

And last, Arky will be losing arguably the best safety valve in the nation in D.J. Williams. Yet another hit when breaking in a new QB.

I thought Wilson has looked like a champ coming in off the bench. He looks comfortable and completes his passes. I would love to have a 2nd string that plays like he does. Sadly my team doesn't.

He's been waiting patiently for 3 years now to get his chance. I think he's going to be very focused and hungry.

...if he beats out Brandon Mitchell.

It sets up very well for whoever takes the helm. Top 3 sec RB behind you, number 1 sec WR corp around you and at least entering year three in BP's system.

As always seems to be the case, its all about the OLine. That's the question mark.

We're hoping TW (or whoever earns the starting position) will be our Tee Martin. Peyton leaves Tenn, & Tee wins the NCG. Hopefully, with Mallett leaving, [insert next qb name here] gets us one of those crystal footballs.

Our defense will continue with it's steady improvement. Our offense will continue to put up solid numbers. Our rbs and receivers are returning, so the qb will be surrounded by playmakers. OL may be bigger question than qb, but we should be fine there, and TW and BM are both more mobile than RM. We'll be in the running for the West (which also means we'll be in the running for the BCSNCG).

That will be the key. Does he have the will to prepare to be the best he is capable of being. I think he does but we will see. If he doesn’t Mitchell and Walker are right on his heels.

People are comparing his arm to Mallet's. Nobody'd arm is Mallet's.

This. Wilson's arm strenth is equal to or better than any other SEC QB except Mallett.

A previous poster mentioned the OL. I'm not too worried about the inside guard positions [we lose Grayson], as Cook will likely step up [he got a lot of PT this year and did well]. Swanson, Bailey, and Cook will form a great group on the inside.

What I am worried about is the tackle position. We lose Love, who is projected as a first or second round pick [at least he was at the beginning of the season, not sure if the Ohio State debacle dropped his stock]. We also lose Dominguez, who isn't that great, but was apparently the best we had on the strongside, which worries me. Anthony Oden might be back next year, and if he is, the job is probably his, but we'll have to see. Brey Cook is a midterm enrollee, and people are saying that he might beat out Freeman for the other tackle spot.

As for TE, losing a Mackey award winner will always hurt, but we have a lot of depth at TE. I think someone [most likely Gragg] will step it up next season.

As for our skill position players, if Joe comes back, we'll be good. Childs, Wright, and Adams will most likely all be back, and Cobi will also get a lot of PT. All four are great players.

I agree that Arky will have pretty good olinemen and TE waiting in the wings. SEC teams always do. I am just stating that breaking in so many new players crucial to the running game and pass portection will lead to some growing pains for a new QB. It is inevitable. That's the hype that some people are putting out there is ridiculous especially with the two biggest games of the year on the road. A Petrino QB will always be soild but this Heisman caliber hype is over the top.

25 tds/10 ints. I think with all the weapons at skills positions it will be an easy transition.

The problem I think will be our OL. DJ was an all american, Demarcus love is a high 2nd rounder, and dominguez despite his false starts just ran people over. Don't replace that easily, and don't know for sure what we will be getting with jason peacock and brey cook. jucos are far from a sure thing and brey will be a freshman

Tyler Wilson started his freshman year out of need and most likely would have played the whole season if not for mono...

that will be the last time we ever have to worry bout that

No true freshman will start on our OL. We have other players available.

I think Grant Freeman will be better than Dominguez, especially in pass blocking. I'm not worried about his ability at all.

On the other side, I like Luke Charpentier. The staff has been raving about how great he looks, how smart he is, and how much of a hard worker he is.

I think our best linemen this year were the young ones.
