People will always just call it as they see it. Obviously you don't even have much respect for your coach if you call him Cal and do not address him as Coach.
We respect Cal. We didn't burn his couch.

I also would call McDermott from Creighton, I know he sucked at Iowa st. But he did do well at UNI and Creighton.

I wished it would be Alford, Marshall, or Dawkins. But it won't be, so it will be somebody from out of the blue and half the fan base will be wtf??
I don't think anyone had EVER heard of Rick Ray when State hired him.

Alford is a good match if they keep the promises. I'm not sure though his ego would allow for 2nd or 3rd on the pecking order. I think he is good enough to win at LSU.
Iowa flat out lied to him in terms of facilities upgrades.

You think he would leave his son and almost entire returning team ? I don't see him leaving. Jmo

Get his son to transfer? Money talks right, he makes about $1M at Creighton right now, I bet LSU could double that if they wanted to

Doug McDermott will be preseason all American next year I don't see him transferring even if his dad gets a big job

You have to make the call though.

If it was my calls I do this
Call Wright/Dixon until they threaten me with a restraining order.
Call Alford and say here is what we can and will do tell him you have 36 hours to decide.
Call an NBA guy and beg
Call Duke and ask for Collins or Wojo
Then call Mid Major person.
If all that fails go to UNT and say come on back.
Call Wright/Dixon until they threaten me with a restraining order.

I would tighten it up considerably but on the same track

I sometimes wonder if either of these two ever want to coach anywhere outside of Duke

Collins is probably the guy who succeeds Coach K

If we can teach Phil Jackson bass, crappie and white perch fishing maybe we get him to come down from his Montana Shangri la.

The Tiger Rant has some crazy candidates listed so I ask the posters on the sec rant. Who do you think are realistic choices?
Travis Ford has a decent track record of showing improvement at the places he has been and after all he is from KY. LSU has loved to get KY talent to rub in their face in the past...

I posted this on the rant (I feel dirty because I ventured in to it)

Realistically LSU is in a horrible spot right now. I threw out Alford, Wright, Dixon and McDermott as the top guys. I'm afraid though that they're going to be stuck with Jones or an assistant. I could even live with Travis Ford.
