Hypothetically - Of Course:
Colorado goes to the Pac 10
Missouri or Nebraska goes to the Big 10
Big 12 starts to crumble
Which SEC configuration would you prefer:
Current
OR
EAST
Alabama
Auburn
Florida
Georgia
Kentucky
Tennessee
WEST
Arkansas
LSU
Miss St
Ole Miss
Texas
Texas A&M (package deal with Texas per TX Legislature)

So...USCe is out of the SEC, and geography is ignored?
Posted on 3/1/10 at 3:45 pm to SwatMitchell
you can't kick out USCe and Vandy. Otherwise, bring the 2 Tejas teams on.

I think I'd prefer the line-up we have now.
The way you have things laid out would surely be intense though.
It just wouldn't give any other conference a chance and they don't have much of a chance already.

Yes USCe is out.
How is geography ignored? Which West school is east of an East school or vice versa?

aka that is a hole in your configuration and you can't figure out to do with it so.. you assume everyone is just going to ignore the other 7 teams of the Big 12 you didn't realign?

Increases the marquis football matchups without a doubt. Also doubles the TV market (if you exclude the Miami part of FL)...

not a good balance of divisions IMO. LSU & Texas would own the West in your scenario.

A & M has as much potential as LSU.

first there is not enough balance
the east is way too loaded in football
bama/UF should be kept in different divisions. Plus Aubie/Bama won't go for that, puts them in divisions that are too difficult

In this scenario, OU would experience some dropoff and A&M would be elevated by a move to the SEC.

I think that the SEC should stay the same for sure.
I would like to see more OOC big-time games (Bama/VT, UGA/Okie St., Tenn/UCLA) then there are at the moment.
There are a few teams in the SEC who regularly schedule powerhouse OOC opponents...but some of the other SEC teams need to step it up.

I like the SEC the way it is.
But Texas and A&M would upgrade the conference, and Texas has a HUGE population.
Our tv money would be unbelievable, and recruiting would improve across the board.

Why stop at the Texas schools? Go full blast and bring in the oklahoma schools as well.

You can't kick out a charter member of the conference. If the SEC has to get rid of two teams, it should be Arkansas and South Carolina. Vandy should stay. Their academics are excellent and the conference needs at least one punching bag for football.

No one should be kicked out of the SEC and I don't give a rip about Texas or Texas A&M. They mean no more to me than ___________ (insert any school here).

Yeah, I'd like to hear this. LSU has two NC in football the last 10 years and A&M has not even a conference championship in football during the same time.
