re: Texas - bill filed that could lead to a voter referendum on the state's independence - SwatMitchell
As long as Gulf access remains, it's probably a net exporter... I mean, seriously? Exporting to whom? Every first world country will immediately be given the ultimatum to deal with the United States or Texas
Militarily, secession is not an option. But if it was an amicable sep...

re: Texas - bill filed that could lead to a voter referendum on the state's independence - SwatMitchell
Do you know how quickly the US government would freeze out Texas in trade deals with allied nations? The businesses that would immediately flee Texas? The tax increases citizens would receive? USDA no longer grades the mass amount of cattle in Texas?
What resources/raw materials wo...

re: PSA: auto industry is trying to put poor people in debt - SwatMitchell

re: Chris Ash anybody? - SwatMitchell
Living here in Austin, and keeping up a bit with UTexas football, I would love Chris Ash at DC for LSU. I liked the scheme and much improved tackling I saw this past season (his only here)...player development too....

re: New Jackson State coach Deion Sanders robbed in, well, Jackson - SwatMitchell
There is something just rude about burglary: someone has to clean up and replace glass, and then rebuy stuff - stealing others' time/property...while stealing your own dignity. This is disappointing....

re: When it’s all said and done who underachieved more? - SwatMitchell
I do not believe that History will be kind to this era of the Saints, when the conversation turns to playoff success and underachievement.
Saints fans will especially agree on the harsh playoff endings - but even just one title sets them apart from the others listed. Era longevity ...
Yes, the Saints are on that list.
Are these also on the list: Donovan McNabb's Eagles Dan Fouts' Chargers & Warren Moon's Oilers Are any of the 8 I have listed so far below Payton/Brees on the list? I am going on because I've been a fan of so many teams that came close and...

re: When it’s all said and done who underachieved more? - SwatMitchell
Whenever the sad topic of "Greatest Underachievers in NFL History" comes up in sports conversations, people will forever mention the Payton Brees Era of the NOLA Saints as a candidate, if not winner, due to the pathetic playoff performances of these two.
Well, after: Marino's Dolp...

SkyCast/SkyCam Feed Ruined - SwatMitchell
I still watched the game this way last night, but they now cut away at breaks to a red "ESPN" logo on black background, with a 12 second loop of the same music. We much preferred past years, when the SkyCam feed from the venue continued during the timeouts. Anyone else notice this change for t...
This is the correct answer. I was totally unaware how much of a difference this made until my kid moved to Utah. It's the perfect time zone for college football Saturday.
I could totally see this for college football Saturdays: games from 10AM until 10PM (+SAD)...
