...of bowing out of the SEC tournament early so he could rest his players for the regionals during his successful run. I am not sure it's true but it seems like a logical thing to do if you have already locked up home regional. I wonder why someone hasn't figured that out lately. Smart or do you play for the tournament title ?
Well, last year Arkansas won both SEC titles then got knocked out just like Tennessee. This year we got bounced early and are in Omaha.

I'd say it worked out pretty well for us last year. We've got enough SEC Tourney trophies. Only the peon programs brag about those.

They should make it single elimination imo

Gonna start fading teams that do well at the sect and riding those that have disappointing performances

Other than the obvious reason of money, I don’t really see the point of the SEC tournament for teams who have already secured a bid. It’s not really for a championship, the league is already decided it’s regular season champion by then. once I knew we were in the NCAA tournament I was not sad that we lost in Hoover at all.

You should never go into a game expecting.....or hoping to lose. I can't see Tanner doing that. These are 20 year old kids. 8 hours of sleep is enough for 2 days at that age. They don't need a week to recover from the GRUELING game of baseball.

It's more specifically for the pitchers. If it's really so easy to bounce back at that age, there wouldn't be so many college pitchers who have already had TJ surgery. You're also always running the risk of someone tearing/pulling something, or taking a ball to the nose.

There's a difference between hoping you'll lose and giving your relief a chance to start and see how far they can get against everyone else when there's nothing at stake when you lose.

You're clearly TouchdownTony and not HomerunTony for a reason.

Yep, Tanner mimicked Bertman in this way..

Mainieri, was the exact opposite.

MS State did it last year. They got run ruled twice in Hoover and went home.

We were a lock to host but on the bubble for super. I was furious. It worked out but I was furious with the way he handled Hoover.
