Kids in bad shape have made up ground before. Considering that post was made in February, there's still time. I'll hold out hope until the end.

I don't know, a teacher saying he has no chance to make the grades with 3 months left doesn't sound too well

Which teacher of his did you talk too? I understand why nobody is mentioning mccoy or alexander, but I can see Alexander as a #2 if he can stay healthy for a full year. Maze and hanks could be threats as well. Mccoy just doesn't seem to have it.

Ask the Bama fan who said it in the thread I linked.
Also in the thread it said Norwood was in trouble academically.

Well that's it, all 28 signees will not make it.

I can't argue those points for sure.
But, imo Jones in '09 will be better than Lafell in '09. JJ was a true frosh last season. I'm sure he'll be much improved this season.
And, if you go by past production then A.J. Green is #1 without a doubt.
You guys have an unproven commodity at QB. Lafell has 2 QB's that started last season.
Julio really has four possible scenarios, and 3 don't look good:
1-could have a brilliant year with a QB that catches on amazingly fast
2-QB could struggle early, having trouble spreading the ball.
3-QB keys on Julio too much, teams shift defense over to shut him down. (most likely to occur, imo)
4-you guys could run 40 times a game.

Or there's a fifth choice:
Colin Peek becomes a big time target, like many think he will, and gives Alabama a threat other than Julio in the passing game.

i think some of the LSU fans are significantly underestamating the presence of tolliver
i think he is gunna take a significant number of catches away from Lafell..he was really coming on at the end of the year and seemed to be a popular target for Jefferson
Jones and Green will be much more focal in their perspective corps

Anyone who thinks Lafell is not on the level of Greene and Jones currently are just stupid. How can a guy who would be a sure 2nd rounder not in the discussion for the #1 WR in the SEC. If Jones or Greene were in this draft they would not be considered a first rounder so I think that expresses the point that Lafell is at least their peer.
Instead of arguing who has the best WR why don't people talk about the best WR unit? That will matter more come game time.
I would say LSU's unit easily wins.
Lafell(could have been a 2nd rounder)
Tolliver(#2 WR in recruiting class)
Randle(#1 WR in recruiting class)
Shepard(#1 duel threat QB, but I think he will play as a slot WR)
That doesn't even include a solid group of role players at WR.

I think even your LSU brethren would say that J. Lee played well outside of the INT's. And, the INT's don't go against Lafell.
good luck trying to find that guy amongst our fanbase.
