Though he wasn't all that awful, Woody Widenhofer should be in the running

If he won't add Rod Dowhower to the list then there is no reason to suggest any Vandy coaches. Woody was much better than Rod, who produced consecutive 2-9 seasons and was 1-15 in SEC play. Woody managed to get to 5 wins one season and at least was able to put a good defense on the field. Dowhower was inept in every phase of coaching. His 4 wins were against N. Texas, UAB, La. Tech, and Kentucky...

Fran was a pretty good coach at Bama, but looking back the writing was on the wall that we were going to plummet had he stayed. Sanctions were coming, and he hadn't recruited all that well. Lots of influential people close to the program HATED him, so it was only a matter of time of him leaving. I was pissed at the time when he left, but looking back it was probably best for us, and for him. Even with his collapse at A&M, he got out of Bama while the iron was hot and before his poor recruiting and sanctions absolutely wrecked his career. Turns out his A&M stint wrecked his career anyway.

1. High Hat aka Les Miles.
2. Humma aka Ed Orgeron.
3. Houston Dale Nutt.
4. Joker Phillips
5. Franchione, Shula, Dumbose. All three were the same dumb shite.

Honorable Mention: Buster Brown aka Terry Bowden.

Any I'm forgetting? Say last 20 or so years.

How did Curley Hallman get left out?

He was still at LSU 18 years ago.

I can remove Dinardo if the general LSU consensus is he doesn't belong.

Dinardo brought the magic back and set the table for Saban. Got us to believe again after 6 straight losing seasons.

Hallman was a dumpster fire save the day pigs flew. He was our Derek Doolander.

Gerry Dinardo

Coach Dinardo took over LSU after the nadir in our history (89-94). It was so bad he had to remind the faithful there was such a thing as 'Magic' in TS on a Saturday Night, which he brought back by signing one of our best players ever, then a big win over AU, both in 1995. He also won 3 bowls in a row, for LSU a big accomplishment. We owe him a debt for which he'll never be properly appreciated for...due to a poor finish, and Coach Saban coming aboard after him.
