Quality topic.

This. Especially with losing 6 of the OL 2-deep, 4 being starters.

I think Ballard = Bolden and I wouldn't put either in the top 10.

quote:

Relf was 10th in Passing yards per game and only only had 13 TD with 6 picks. He also had 700 yard rushing because he had 194 carries which lead your team. His yards per carry average was only 3.7. He is not even in the top 20 in the SEC.

If you take away the negative yardage for sacks his YPC would go up. The last part I agree with. He is still showing improvement though.

quote:

Masoli had more passing yards in 1 less game than Relf and averaged a whole yard more per carry and had 2 more rushing TD's. WTF do you State people get your logic.

Another reason for the difference in YPC between the two. I think Masoli was used more like a scrambling QB, Relf was used more like a goaline RB. Relf didn't have a lot of long runs, he did a lot of dirty work between the tackles.

And did any of you guys who are putting Joe Adams watch the Sugar Bowl?

Joe is a player. He had an off night but still finished with 9 catches for 120 and a touchdown.
Granted, it should have been 12 rec. 190 yds. 3TDs.

This guy is a big play machine and the best punt returner in our league.

Janzen Jackson is a top 20 draft pick next year by most mock drafts.

He's probably in the top ten

Actually they played the same number of games. Ballard missed the UAB game. Also Bolden racked up his yardage against crap teams. 228 yards against Fresno? Come on now, don't hang your hat on that.

Common Opponent YPC -
Bolden - 3.8
Ballard - 4.24

Suck it.

Bolden's success will likely depend on how well the Black Bears can pass. If Mackey/whoever can't keep defenses honest, Bolden's going to be seeing 8/9 guys in the box every snap. Not a recipe for success.

I'm biased, no doubt, but Knile Davis is a stud and should be ranked higher. I'd put him at the #1 RB in the SEC. He was Arkansas' MVP and his progress is the reason we were as good as we were.

Bolden >>>>> Ballard

Ballard played in the same number of games- he sat the UAB game out to recover from injury- and scored 5 more TD's while going against defense after defense that knew we werent going to throw the ball very much

Give me Ballard all day long

Relf threw 76 fewer passes than Masoli, but Masoli threw 7 more INT's...and also in 76 more passes, Masoli could only throw 1 more TD

Relf was a grinder week after week that helped us dominate TOP and win games. And he didnt turn the ball over, ya know something that is important for a QB?

Relf > Masoli

Always funny the way Black Bear fans twist logic

these lists are fun - but this time last year pretty much no one would have guessed Cam Newton would be the best player in teh SEC this year

You see, that's why these threads about NEXT year are pure speculation.

But, it's the speculation that's fun.

Lattimore is the most overrated RB I've seen.

This is the most ridiculous statement I have ever seen. 1200 yards rushing, and missed essentially 2.5 games with injury, and ran behind a grade C offensive line. Arkansas fans probably think he is overrated, because he got injured against you and only carried the ball about 10 times. Ask UGA, Bama, UF, or Tennessee if he is overrated.

Lattimore is definitely not overrated. Guy is the best running back in the SEC.

Most pro potential, and most raw talent.

The only thing Lattimore lacks is that second gear break away speed. He is good for some 40 yarders, but hard to break an 80 yarder.
