Yep, grew up playing ball with my brother. Kid is a local hero now and he deserves it. Clemson called him like 12 hours before he was going to sign his papers with Appalachian State and offered him a scholarship. If I remember right they had never even seen him play a football game live and had only seen him play a basketball one and he hadn't even visited. Kid made himself into a player.

It is all about where you go, even within a single state.
There are places in the Delta where the difference between Louisiana-Mississippi-Arkansas is solely the license plates. There are spots in West Alabama that really are no different than West Georgia, etc.
There are a handful of best places to live in any given state, almost all of which would at least be tolerable. As to the best, it will likely be subjective to their access to your favorite forms of recreation.

With 485 completed you'll be fine. Love the lake but not much else.
When we were looking at houses, my wife asked why Davidson and Cornelius were so expensive, but she wasn't aware of Lake Norman's impact. Have a couple friends who live on the lake in Mooresville, but we just can't afford to live out there right now.
I've got a contract gig at the speedway through May, so where we are now is a perfect location.

Great list, other than the fact that Chattanooga isn't on it

I was born there actually.. I had to narrow down my TN list, didn't want to appear too TN biased. Chattanooga is making a comeback for sure and I'd most definitely live there.

I was born there too. It definitely left a lot to be desired for a long time. It is now one of the best small cities in the U.S. Amazing what 10 years can do

Cool deal, Houston has great suburbs to live in, great schools, plenty to see and do, and a great market for jobs. I don't get the hate, traffic is also much better here than in Dallas which seems to be under more and more construction that isn't getting done.
Rockiee, you golf any?

Little rock is ok. Northwest Ark, in Fayetteville and the surrounding areas are really nice. New Orleans would be the last place in Louisiana I'd live. Mandeville and areas on the northshore are nice

Ya I get why it isn't for some people, traffic is my only big complaint. I try to play at least once a month if the weather isn't to bad.

Good deal, maybe we can get a round in sometime and yeah I can see why it isn't for some folks but I love Houston even though I'm a diehard coonass.

Met so many people from U of Ark that were from that area. I think like half of the school is Dallas area kids now.
