There is no way (insert your HC's name here) isn't first, or at least tied for first. Are you putting Bobby first just because he coaches at Vanderbilt? I mean, what would push (insert your HC's name here) out of the top spot? The dude is known nationwide as being a devout Christian. He goes on mission trips in the offseason with players to (random country/state) to build houses. He's said that he would consider going into the mission field after coaching. Seriously, how in the world would (insert your HC's name here) not be #1?

Just so everyone can get their 2 cents in quickly.

Hasn't UGA had about as many arrests as any program in the SEC? Does Richt not get docked some for that? I think he's a good guy but if he was 100% about character and nothing else they wouldn't have had all of these problems.

Let's not turn him into a saint just because he goes to a few FCA meetings and throws out a couple Bible verses.

I thought I'd stir it up a bit.

The topic isn't rank the SEC teams. It's not rank the athletes on SEC football teams. It's rank the coaches. Richt can't go downtown with these 18-21 year olds and hold their hands and prohibit them from buying a beer. If some idiot does something stupid and screws up, after BEING WARNED BY THE COACHES, why should Richt's character/values/integrity (according to the OP) be looked at any differently?

Yeah...only problem with your little ploy is that my paragraph only applies to 1 coach out of 12. Nice try though.

right but we can run them into the ground because of all the personal time and conversation we have all had with them.

Oh of course. I make a point that someone has no defense or rebuttal for so they post a funny picture that is nearly 5 years old. How could I forget this is an internet message board? I should expect nothing less.

has already had around 15 players commit their lives to Christ since being here. very active in FCA.

Ehh..not sure I'm a fan of this. Does a member of the FCA just come in and talk or what?

But yeah, not sure why Chizik is so low on some lists. Seems like a good guy.

I couldn't help but notice that almost everyone's ranking start with the coach of the team who has no room to talk shite and goes to the team most able to talk shite.

So coaches aren't at least partially responsible for the discipline of the players they recruit and oversee every day???

I hear some of what you're saying. When Jeremy Elder robbed someone at gunpoint a few years ago (was immediately kicked off the team by Saban), it's not like Saban told him to do that, but since then Saban has gained control of our team and most of the true troublemakers have been weeded out. Doesn't mean we may not have an idiot here or there....but I'm also not the one saying that "There is no way Saban shouldn't be first, or tied for first".

I'm just saying that's a pretty bold statement for the HC of a team that has had as many problems as UGA....and if we're going to make a point to note all of the souls he's converted to Christ then we should also note how many problems his players have had with the law.

Literally. Bobby Johnson doesn't allow cursing during games or practices. Or so i've heard.

Yeah, it's funny that "best character" seems to equal "guy who has been in the conference the least amount of time and/or accomplished the least" with the exception of Richt who wears his faith on his sleeve.
