Had one great year and then somehow parlayed that into hanging aorund 9! more years in the NFL. Kudos to him for longevity. Certainly not a "great" pro player.

Played in the NFL for 13 seasons. In two of those seasons (2017 and 2023) he averaged less than 10 yards per reception...in 2 of those seasons, he averaged over 15.

Telling everyone you know nothing about college and pro football is not a good look

Cobbs history of poor decisions dates back to going to Kentucky

Not exactly...had he chosen the home town school he would have played:

1) one season as a Freshman in the horrible "Clawfense"
2) one season under Kiffin
3) one or two seasons under Dooley

The Clawfense alone was reason to choose somewhere else. I remember he came close to picking WVU over Kentucky. Had he chosen WVU, he would have played under OC Jeff Mullen with the Spread Offense that put a lot of balls in the air.

NFL stats

One season over 1,000 yards. Two seasons with more than 6 touchdowns. One career Pro Bowl appearance.

"Great" is an opinion. He had a long career, but I would hardly call him great.

1) Dave Clawson would be a huge upgrade over Stoops but likely doesn’t want to do a lateral move

2) Would have thrived in Kiffins system

3) Doesn’t hurt him going to the NFL

4) And most importantly the post college and post NFL support in Knoxville and the Vol Fanbase is light years ahead of what the mistake he made can do.

I hate seeing people waste their potential.
