As I stated, some Mizzou players played dirty to the whistle and after it -- trying to injure Bama players. That's pretty comparable to, if not worse than, what Davis did. Seems to me your words "Trashy people doing trashy shite." apply pretty well to those Mizzou players' behavior. I expect better from an Odom coached team. As I already said, I don't excuse or condone Davis' behavior. Nor does Coach Saban. He and I, along with all reasonably intelligent Bama fans, expect better from Davis and all Bama players.

Yeah most Bama fans are in agreement that he should be suspended. Let's not act like this is the norm, we usually play disciplined football. Things got chippy last night and it is what it is. Let's keep it 100, most of you want to see him out because you think it will give TN some sort of competitive advantage next weekend.

Can we start one about the Mizzou guy trying to hurt Ruggs after the tackle? Shouldn’t he be suspended? He was actually trying to cause harm.

And . . . Have you’ve never played and been cheap hit before - I once got punched through my face mask by a guy who didn’t like that I knocked him on his arse blocking him. No one caught it either. I had a black eye for a week.

I totally get what you’re saying. I don’t typically deflect, that’s why I addressed the issue head on. It’s really pretty straightforward isn’t it? It was out of line, that’s not Bama football. Period.
But you just being here (why is an OSU fan on an SEC board?) makes it impossible to ignore the rest. I mean, I’m sure we can both agree that OSU sold its soul for their mediocre football success years ago.

Fighting will get you suspended now? First it was suspensions for tackling (it's call "targeting" now). Then blocking was banned, it too is now called targeting (see Florida vs Vanderbilt for proof). I remember before football was illegal it was nothing for an olineman and dlineman to tangle for two or three minutes before they could be separated. Then they lined up and did it again. Suspensions for fighting...absurd.

This just in from ESPN. Per Nick Saban Mr. Davis will be suspended for practice this week. Per Nick Saban I told him that if all he could get off was three punches he probably needed to rest, I expected at least five.

I think that's fair and shows him that he can't get away with that shite and that no player is bigger than the team.
