I just saw his press conference discussing the Arkansas match up this week. I sort of enjoyed the way he treats your media. He really could care less to even be there it looks like.

Anyway, here is my question. Why does Saban use his hands so much while he is talking about something? I noticed this when all the SEC coaches were making their rounds on ESPN a while back, but it struck me again while watching his presser. Do you think it is because he is nervous and it takes his mind of speaking in public?

Why does Les Miles clap like a retard? These are these are the truths that we'll never know.

Was his uncle that much taller than him? Is he used to swatting his uncles dick out of his face?

Is this what you are getting at?

I think it's probably a bit of a nervous habit. I've noticed if he starts throwing the quotation marks up in the air, you'd better watch out. It's a clear sign he's about to go off. He'll start throwing them up in the air when they don't even fit what he's saying. All of a sudden he's yelling about something.

i dont think he's nervous. i think thats just the way he talks. i've oftne thought that if they tied his hands behind his back he couldn't talk at all.

He's Italian?

Really though, I have no idea. It's a mystery. Like Gene Chizik's teeth and the meaning behind everything Les Miles says.

Les is a retard, so that answers that question

He's just an active speaker, you have never seen those before? I can't count how many of my teachers/profs have been the same way. My dad and I even move our hands when we talk. Not as bad as Saban, but still.

I don't know, but it just "screams" second rate.

I move my hands too, at times. Sometimes though, it looks as if Saban is actually treading water behind the mic.

I was just curious if any bama fans had come of with a story on why he does this or not. I found myself focusing on what he was doing with his hands more towards the end of the presser, than what he was actually saying.

in terms of sheer entertainment value nick saban and les miles have the best press conferences

esp if saban is annoyed with a dumb question or les tries to answer a question off the cuff... sometimes Les will start out a sentence with an idea of where he wants to go with it and just get lost like a Labrador paddling after a misplaced duck

Honestly

as long as he wins I don't care if he perches on the podium dressed in burlap while fricking a rhode island red

Forbes - Great Leaders Talk With Their Hands

quote:

Have you ever noticed that when people are passionate about what they're saying, their gestures automatically become more animated? Their hands and arms move about, emphasizing points and conveying enthusiasm.

You may not have been aware of this connection before, but you instinctively felt it. Research shows that audiences tend to view people who use a greater variety of gestures in a more favorable light. Studies have found that people who communicate through active gesturing tend to be evaluated as warm, agreeable and energetic, while those who remain still (or whose gestures seem mechanical or "wooden") are seen as logical, cold, and analytical.
