I'm dead serious. He is one thing that Spurrier was not and that's a great recruiter and I expect him to have SC in east contention in a few years.

These are the things fans with constant lil bro-ism write.

What kind of QB do you like?
"The one that wins."

"The one that wins."

Sounding like to me, it isn't the worst hire because he picks kids who can improve and fit his system.
Sounds like we will be moving to more of a faster paced team and I'm all for that.
After the press conference, I feel like it is actually a good hire.. especially with the incentive based contract and low price we are paying. We can fire him with 10 days notice and 70% pay or something like that anyways.

1) Excited to have a full time head coach that understands the importance of recruiting.
2) -1. I don't know you

In all seriousness, do you feel that Muschamp is going to be able to recruit to Columbia as well as he did in Gainesville
he doesn't have to recruit equal to what he did at UF with top 5 classes. he is a huge problem now for the Upstate school with in-state recruiting - something that hasn't existed since Spurrier, Jr was given the RC title.
NC recruiting will also come back online for the Gamecocks as well. his connections within FL, GA & AL will only help bring talent to Columbia that never came before he was hired.

Not ecstatic, but considering the spot we were in after Herman & Smart I like where we are. Many of the candidates past those two had their issues, but I'm excited and ready for a new era in Gamecock Football.
He'll do 3 things better than Spurrier ever did though that I'm extremely excited about in that he'll be the hardest working we've ever had, he's an excellent recruiter & will build a hell of a staff.

Second Question: On a scale of 1-10 how mad are you at me? 10 being really mad and 1 being not very mad.
you're 10 years old, aren't you?

He expanded upon that and talked about how Shaw wasn't the most physically gifted, but refused to lose. That's the kind of guy who succeeds here. Those intangibles are invaluable.

At this point, I am happy the search is over. Could we have done better? Absolutely, but you gotta find someone that wants to be here. Apparently, Muschamp is that coach. We will see how it goes.
I don't get mad.

Not an SC fan, but I don't think this hire is the sure-fire disaster that some are making it out to be.
I don't think it'll have the program-imploding consequences people think it will, but I also think it was a head-scratcher of the highest magnitude.
The guy legitimately needs to work on managing his temper and reactions on the sideline, and his antics during the Iron Bowl hurt his team.
Plus, he was alleged to have learned from his mistakes at Florida, specifically on offense, yet one of his first hires was his last OC there.
So basically, he had two big lessons he needed to learn -- controlling his temper and developing his approach to offense -- and he's done neither. I'd say it hasn't started off well.

Muschamp is a young guy, there's no doubt that he can improve as a head football coach.
True. Muschamp has a lot of experience at big programs. If he's ever gonna be a successful head coach at a P5 school, this is it.
Compare that to Georgia, who's taking a big risk in hiring an assistant, and Muschamp doesn't look so bad. I won't lie and say that I'd be thrilled with Muschamp at Arkansas, but expectations by fans are far too high.
