Final fours, yes. Not elite 8s from the 90s.

Swap Final 4 and Elite 8 and it's as follows...

1) Final 4

2) SEC regular season title

3) SEC tournament title
This is correct.

That's my point... no one remembers elite 8's. They do remember Final 4s. I do remember recent conference champs and can tell you if a school has won one in the last decade.

I guess we just differ then. I know it's been a while since Arkansas has won the SEC, but I couldn't tell you the last one we won. But I still remember Kansas coming back to beat Arkansas in the 1990? Elite 8. Partly because I was unable to watch the 2nd half at work and thought we had it won at halftime, so it was quite the disappointment to hear that we lost.

This is 100% false. If conference championships don't mean anything and no one cares about them. Then no one cares about anything less than a national championship either. Who gives a frick if you finished 2nd, 3rd of 4th in that case? Maybe only Kentucky fans feel that way since they have like 40.

I don't mean that no one cares about them, but just not as much. They're nice for bragging rights, but I don't have any fond memories of winning the SEC. The big matchups between Arkansas/Kentucky in the 90's SECT Championships were great games, but they didn't mean much to me.

Baseball is similar for me. We won the SEC and the SECT last year, but losing so early in the NCAAT made the season a failure to me. Yeah, it's nice that I can brag about Arkansas being undisputed SEC champs, but I'd trade places with MSU or Vanderbilt in a heartbeat. I am proud of what our team accomplished, but I also feel like we shite the bed in the NCAAT.

I agree, it was an empty feeling not making it to Omaha. Who cares about the other, and we caught hell for not making it.

The dance is where it’s at, conference jewelry is second unless it’s needed.
