Why is the #12 always on Bama football helmets that appear on tv or posters or anywhere in general? Is there something specific about that number or was it chosen at random?
-just a curious fan from the #1 team in the nation and will prove it again on Jan 9th.

Anyway the number was popular because of Namath and the number of National Titles. Now you see helmets with 13 a lot.

It was 12 before & during 2009, but now it is 13..

It is because they think they have 12 NCs. Now some gumps think it is 13. It is pretty comical. I chuckle whenever I see it.

I had a gump tell me they really had 18, but they had to much class to claim fake titles.

The number 12 is significant in Bama QB history. It gets used for media and graphic purposes.
