There was a State Representative from around there that was initially kicking around the idea of putting it to a vote. This was a couple months back though. He's an MSU alumn if memory serves me correctly.
He probably gets, or at least got, emails and phone calls about "Bring back the Colonel!" every day.

It is bad for the whole state. I mean MS looks bad enough without something stupid like this that will likely make national news.

Exactly.
I love colonel reb, not so much the foam head mascot, but the logo. Having said that, I don't let that cloud my judgement, and I realize what's done is done. If this gets dragged out in the media again, we will look like the worst kind of fools.
I would rather have remained without a mascot, but since we already had the whole mascot selection thing, the worst thing we can do is dig this back up.

Yeah it sucks he is gone but the Colonel Reb Foundation is really starting to annoy me with all this bull shite. Those frickers need to learn when they are beat.

If anything....they need to just let us have the logo back. Hell...I'd be okay with how it was from 2003-2009 with no on field mascot.

I went into rebel rags and campus book store this weekend and half the stuff in there still had col reb on it.

Yeah supposedly there is still merchandise out there. But I think they stopped making merchandise with the logo. So what is left...is left. Unless you make your own stuff with the logo.
It could just be a "throwback" logo for Ole Miss.
