YOUR team just won the game dumbass. If you were at the UF/OU championship game would you have gone with your florida gear on? Probably not, I'd imagine.

I'm not a fan of a damn conference. I'm not an SEC fan, I'm a Georgia fan. Georgia is the only school or team that I pull for. I don't give a damn what everyone else does.

Bama fans have a superiority complex. There's a big difference.

I read it wrong and I'm pretty sure he wrote it wrong....UGA's have a bit of a superiority complex as well.

eta - for why? I'm not sure.

Doubt you'll make that mistake again!

That is the single worst time I've ever had at a football game. Going to every home game during the 0-21 streak was more fun. Cold as hell -- and they ran out of hot chocolate and pizza before halftime.

I don't know why Georgia would have one.

we have to hide that information. if it were to be universally known, it could be embarassing. even so, what would we do if south carolina was our rival? hell, they won't even call themselves south carolina any more. it's just "carolina" what kind of rivalry would that be?

Always envied y'all's marquee matchups week in and week out. Loved the concept of y'all having legitimate conference pride (there was NOTHING close to that in the big12).

Honestly, this SEC move feels like we're coming home. Should have been here a long time ago, but better late than never.

A&M tried hard to get into the SEC when the SWC collapsed and even had a bid to get in, but got caught up in TX politics and shoved into the Big XII by the legislature. It took having and Aggie governor and the legislature being out of session for the time to be ripe this time.

So to answer your question: most A&M fans have been pining for the SEC for decades.

I watched SEC football growing up, and always preferred it to any other conference. I thought it was the best, and most exciting, football to watch.

Couldn't be happier that Mizzou is in the SEC now. I grew up in a part of the state that was closer to Ole Miss than Mizzou, so this feels like home to me.

I always admired the SEC. I envied that you had a national network all to yourselves (CBS) while we were stuck on FSN. When the Big Ten rumors actually were popping up, I actually asked my friends if they would rather be in the Big Ten or SEC. All of them said SEC, because of better football games. We just never thought it would happen. I was also amazed by the pulling for each other idea. Then when I looked at the Big XII, you would have teams tearing us and A&M down out of jealousy and spite. It was very much a welcome change to come to a conference of strong competition and brotherhood. I made sure to send an email, and made sure others did as well to make the move to the Southeastern Conference. I watched way more SEC on CBS games last year than Big XII games, so this year it will pretty much be locked on channel 4.

As opposed to you wanting us all to be friends deep down. We all hate each other. All other SEC teams are dirt to me, unless they're playing Clemson or North Carolina.

If UGA goes 3-9 somehow I would laugh my tits off. Same goes for any East team that's not Vandy.

Not necessarily.

There are times when I'll pull for an SEC team in an OOC game, but it really depends on a lot of other factors.

Actually, if Perry had his way, we'd still be bending over for the sips.

What it REALLY took was a couple of things:

1. Perry getting torn apart in his attempted presidential bid. (He would have never been reelected as governor if we'd attempted to leave for the SEC in 2010)

2. Finally getting rid of Mike McKinney (the reason Sherman was hired).

3. John Sharp as Chancellor.

4. The bullshite with the Longhorn Network, coupled with the events of 2010 finally making the Board of Regents realizing they'd had enough.

what kind of factors?

OOC doesn't mean shite except for national rankings.

To me the only factor is if it will negatively affect my team or not. Vandy or Arkansas or MSU or Kentucky or hell even LSU winning a bowl game will rarely affect UGA because we don't recruit a ton of the same kids.

However, we strongly recruit against UF, UA, AU, UT, and SC. If those schools do well and win a major bowl or even a national title, that can adversely affect UGA. That could be the difference in a kid going there or here. Look at UF. They've had a very strong run since 1990, but we could still say we had more national titles. From 06-08 we can't say that anymore. So should I have been pulling for them anyway, simply because we're in the same conference? There is money, prestige, and influence that comes with winning big, and I would prefer our rivals to not have that if we can't. It's a lot easier for a stud recruit to go elsewhere if the other school says "well we just won a major BCS bowl, while UGA [fill in the blank]". And you also mentioned rankings. Don't you think it's a big selling point for school X to say "well we finished ahead of UGA in the rankings, why would you go there?" If you don't get all that, I can't help you.

My one, sole, only interest is in UGA. If other teams around us, specifically our rivals, do very well, that hurts UGA and makes them stronger. It's simple. So no, I don't pull for most SEC teams in bowl games. I don't give a frick about the SEC, I care about MY school.
