Didn't the Texas band have cowbells back in the 70's? I thought there was a long tradition of the band having them.

Mullen's idea of playing Dont Stop Believin before the fourth quarter had some cool moments. We let that die.

State may have let that die but that song now plays at all kinds of sporting events college and pro. That's a deal MSU started that took off nationwide, but we've since left it alone.

Yes they did...

I have "Go horns go....(followed by the cowbells ringing) imprinted on my brain from the 1960s due to all those losses OU incurred.

Not sure exactly when it went away.. but the Big XII prohibited noisemakers so that might have been it...

Maybe some of our older Texas fans might remember.

As far as Mississippi State? I have nothing against "Uga" at UGA... but I think MSU's bulldog is a nicer looking dog.

So, what's more annoying: GA fans barking Cowbells The Vandy whistler Rocky Top

Cowbells
Whistler
Rocky Top
GA barking

And Rocky Top wouldn’t be that bad but the annoying hyper feminine “WHEW!” part is like nails on a chalkboard IMO.

State is an ag school at its core, hence the cowbells.
Not sure about the bulldog, but then bulldogs aren’t native Georgia either.

When Tennessee plays State in MS, I think it would be fun to watch the State fans drown out Rocky Top with the bells.

.... watch it on TV, that is..............
