Question for LSU fans about the shoe-throwing thing

I get a kick out of LSU fans jibbing on Georgia with goodies like:
Now, that's a knee slapper and I can take it as well as anyone. Comedy gold right there at least for us SEC fans.
Moving on ... I love it when Florida falls apart and embarrasses themselves. That shoe-throwing debacle is in the top 1 or 2 of Florida frick ups. Of course, Mullen further embarrassed himself before the SEC game against Bama saying that if they win that game, they are in the playoffs knowing damn well they were at that point at 2 losses.
Tbh, I wasn't just pulling for Florida to lose but I did want to see LSU win that game. That win was pretty big for LSU. I remember a lot of LSU fans got super-excited over that one. And I bet you'll always count that as a win in the highly vaunted LSU/Florida rivalry.
But, if memory serves, that was in the Covid season when nothing counted. So, fellas, help me understand. Did Bama's NC not count but did wins like this for LSU count? If Bama's NC did not count, then it's only fair to say this shoe-throwing game never happened for you. Which is it? Just curious. I'll hang up and listen.

Georgia won back to back national championships ... And they still have less national titles in college football than LSU the past 41 years

Funny moment in a joke season.
- Chick won SEC Player of the Week
- Cardboard crowds
- Best players didn’t play
- 7 win team in Natty
- 3 week byes in November

We had the same advantages and disadvantage as Florida that game but our players chose not to make stupid unsportsmanlike conduct errors.
As far as that entire season? It’s a fluke with so many players out at times. There will always be an asterisk by that entire season as if it never happened.

The memes were the best thing about it

ShoeF lost their chance at their first CFP appearance, at home, to a LSU team full of freshman

- Best players didn’t play (so-called best players weren't really what you and I might call best because they afraid of a cold -- we can agree with that)
- 7 win team in Natty (yeah not good)
- 3 week byes in November (again, pussy people in 2020, what can you do?)

Then, why bring it up? Don't worry, a lot of us will bring it up but it should not be a big deal to you

“There will always be an asterisk by that entire season as if it never happened.”
Not according to the CFP record books and that’s all that matters. Your school voted to play but when your team ended up sucking (after many LSU fans were claiming they would repeat) you change the narrative.
This is the definition of a loser.

It did. To say otherwise is dumb. Everyone agreed to play within the given rules. Same logic applies to USC trying to share a title in '03. Everyone agreed that the BCS winner was the champion before the season began.

No LSU fan legitimately expected a repeat with the core of the 2019 team moving on
Expected to be more competitive, sure. But no one was realistically expecting a repeat. You’re inventing a revised history here to substantiate your angle.

The season happened and goes down in the books but at the same time it was a complete joke.

The season transpired and it is official and in the records.
However, to act like this season is a as legit as others is insane. A 6 win Ohio state team got in. Multiple players opted out. 2 less games were played overall. The season should be justly judged as less significant than others.
